Kimpton Marlowe Hotel

Boston, USA

The hotel

Offering stunning views of the Boston skyline in a beautiful riverside setting, the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel prides itself on personalised service and exceptional accommodation. There's a whole host of things to see and do in the immediate area but the hotel offers a state-of-the-art fitness centre as well as the highly regarded Bambara Restaurant and Bar. A great place to relax, admire river views as you recline in deep-cushioned booths and feast on American brasserie-style cuisine. There's an emphasis on seafood dishes, accompanied, of course, by some very fine wines. Across the street from the hotel are unpaved trails, ideal for jogging, walking, biking and skating - the hotel offers complimentary bikes so grab one and explore. How about the setting, does the water tempt you? If so, there are also kayaks for complimentary use if you fancy paddling your way downstream. Spacious guest rooms are idea for larger groups and families are very well catered for with welcome packs for the kids.

We easily walked from the property to the TD Garden, the Museum of Science, the Boston Common, Beacon Hill and the Theatre district. The hotel staff were all nice and helpful and we had a tasty dinner at the Bambera restaurant. By chance we had a room that overlooked the Charles River / Boston skyline which was a bonus. We found a hole in the wall breakfast / sandwich shop a couple blocks away (2nd street cafe) which is perfect if you are looking for a locals no frills spot to eat. The only thing a bit confusing is the abundance of taxes / fees that make it virtually impossible the know what your final bill will be until you checkout .....but this is not something I expect is any different at other accommodations. Shouldn't this be as easy as breathing especially when welcoming ppl from overseas? And I'd prefer staff to create a bit more relaxed atmosphere as this is really not an extremely luxurious hotel, it's simply a good one. Read less

Great hotel, very clean, and friendly staff. Adjacent to cambridgeside mall. Only complaint is that there isn’t a main light in the room, need to turn on lamps but once on, they have sufficient brightness.
