The hotel

Offering stunning views of the Boston skyline in a beautiful riverside setting, the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel prides itself on personalised service and exceptional accommodation. There's a whole host of things to see and do in the immediate area but the hotel offers a state-of-the-art fitness centre as well as the highly regarded Bambara Restaurant and Bar. A great place to relax, admire river views as you recline in deep-cushioned booths and feast on American brasserie-style cuisine. There's an emphasis on seafood dishes, accompanied, of course, by some very fine wines. Across the street from the hotel are unpaved trails, ideal for jogging, walking, biking and skating - the hotel offers complimentary bikes so grab one and explore. How about the setting, does the water tempt you? If so, there are also kayaks for complimentary use if you fancy paddling your way downstream. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff is exceptional and friendly. I found the room clean and well decorated. But the showstopper is the view. If you visit, I recommend that you ask for a riverfront view. Seeing tourists roll by on the Charles River and the view of the Bunker Hill Bridge is absolutely lovely. Highly recommend.

My fiancé and i decided to take a last minute trip to Boston to catch the Red Sox game against the Yankees. Knowing how crowded the area would be we searched for hotels in the area close to the ballpark on hotels tonite and we stumbled across this Gem. To start…teddy the door man was extremely kind and showed us to the concierge. As we approached the vibe was comforting and the counter host(s) were full of smiles and pleasantries. On the second day we were approached and asked if we would like to tour the city on bicycles….hesitantly we started to walk away cautious of a scam or some sort of solicitation. It was the complete opposite. Monty and woody ( concierge) seeing our concern said guys the bikes are complimentary with your stay……we immediately took them up on the offer, signed a release and we went off and toured the city. We were just minutes from the Boston Museum of Science, Faneuil Hall and all the amazing dining on the North End. We enjoyed ourselves so much that without hesitation we decided to come back 10 days later to see the Red Sox again. Upon arrival we were delighted to see Monty and Woody behind the counter yet again. As we approached they remembered us by name and welcomed us back….Monty and Woody were also able to upgrade us to one of their suites. Amazing! Large master with separate living room. The bathroom has a great tile shower for me. The misses was astounded by the extra large jacuzzi tub with two seats and jets everywhere. Quiet, comfy, cozy….what more could you ask for. Ill tell ya! The hotel is pet friendly!!!! We will be bringing our puppy back with us next time. Thank you so much Monty, Woody, Jess, and Teddy! If the Red Sox win we will be back next week. Read less

This area is expensive, which is reflected in this hotel as well. Having said that- the hotel is great! the rooms are big and clean, the staff is nice (they helped us with early check-in and late check-out at no cost), and the location is great (walking distance from Boston). We didn't have any housekeeping during the stay, even though they were cleaning other rooms. Besides that, I would highly recommend this hotel. Read less

The rooms are comfortable, stylish, and functional. The location is quiet, packed with activities, and convenient to everything. The amenities are sort of unbelievable — bikes, kayaks, a great gym, delicious coffee, the Times and the Globe. Did I mention that the Marlowe is easily the most dog-loving, dog-welcoming (fee-free!) hotel we’ve ever stayed in? There were even two sweet pups behind the front desk! It’s an overused word, but when it comes to the Marlowe, it really fits: this is a special hotel. I don’t think we’d stay anywhere else in the Boston area after our experience here. Read less

I stayed at the Kimpton Marlowe with my husband and two kids, aged 3yrs and 4 months. Overall, we had a lovely time! The hotel is connected to the Cambridge side mall which is really convenient to run to CVS and to get to the self parking area. Theres no need to do valet as it takes like 2 minutes to get your car yourself and you have in/out privileges. The hotel is ALSO right alongside a canal and across the street from the Charles so we had some beautiful walks. Also a 5 minute walk from the science museum. The rooms are updated and roomy, I felt, for Boston. There was a slight inconvenience the night we checked in as a wedding was in the courtyard area where you usually park to check in, so we had to park in the garage and carry all our bags and 2 kids in. Again not far, but not as easy as loading up a cart. The Kimpton wine hour is always a nice touch. The staff was very nice. The beds were comfortable. Read less
