Kimpton Marlowe Hotel

Boston, USA

The hotel

Offering stunning views of the Boston skyline in a beautiful riverside setting, the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel prides itself on personalised service and exceptional accommodation. There's a whole host of things to see and do in the immediate area but the hotel offers a state-of-the-art fitness centre as well as the highly regarded Bambara Restaurant and Bar. A great place to relax, admire river views as you recline in deep-cushioned booths and feast on American brasserie-style cuisine. There's an emphasis on seafood dishes, accompanied, of course, by some very fine wines. Across the street from the hotel are unpaved trails, ideal for jogging, walking, biking and skating - the hotel offers complimentary bikes so grab one and explore. How about the setting, does the water tempt you? If so, there are also kayaks for complimentary use if you fancy paddling your way downstream. Spacious guest rooms are idea for larger groups and families are very well catered for with welcome packs for the kids.

I stayed here for a business trip and overall everything was fine. Hotel staff were nice and accommodating. The rooms were clean, a nice size but a little dated. Unfortunately you can definitely hear your neighbors through the walls in your room. I agree with another reviewer, the room service dishes sit in the hallway a long time and it… Read more

Unfortunately you can definitely hear your neighbors through the walls in your room. I agree with another reviewer, the room service dishes sit in the hallway a long time and it starts to smell. The location is nice as it’s attached to the mall so it was very convenient to pick up things I forgot. Read less

The Marlowe is now our Gold Standard for hotel stays. Exceptional Staff: Front Desk, Room Service and Housekeeping. Excellent Rooms: Pictured is the presidential suite Great Location: the mall is next to the hotel, but accessed via the underground garage or by walking around the corner. Room Service: worth the extra cost. And I really like the Wiskey Sour sans egg whites. One stay at the Intercontinental Boston after a stay at the Marlowe and now we have had 4 stays at the Marlowe with no interest in other properties. We park our car and take taxis 10 minutes into the hub of Boston. This Hotel and the Staff who make it great are well worth your time. An experience of only positive interactions and happy outcomes. We reserved a conference room (Alexis) for a wedding rehearsal dinner, and a number of the wedding party and other wedding guests stayed at rooms at the hotel. Our family also held a family gathering in the Lobby Bar that gave members who came from around the world to spend some time together. Every aspect of the service and facilities provided… Read more

This is another unique property in a great location where I was treated like a queen. In the interest of time here were the highlights: Great location in Boston, able to visit Cambridge and Boston proper with no issues. Restaurant on site, did not partake, but it's there if you need it. WINE HOUR!!! Super friendly front desk. Seriously! Sense of humor, HELPFUL and just welcoming. You can't go wrong here. That said, I do have two very minor critiques for the management. These are the most minor of comments and not at all complaints. Better lighting in the bathroom or a cosmetics mirror for the desk. The light is very dark yellow. Difficult for application of makeup. Leave the coffee in the lobby until at least noon. Especially on the weekends. :) This hotel will provide many Instagramable photos and is an experience all on its own. You won't be sorry you booked here. Cheers! Read less

I recently stayed here for a business trip. The hotel lobby was beautiful and the staff were friendly, but my room was terrible. The furniture was beat up, the lighting was dingy and overall it was not very clean. I was shocked at how poorly maintained it was. The entire hallway smelled like urine. There was a room service tray that sat in the hallway for over 12 hours. It was shocking to me that they had a "brandy bar" with dirty dishes, trash and no bartender. Overall the hotel appeared to operate as if they were very short staffed. I would definitely not stay here again. Read less
