Loews Boston Back Bay Hotel

The hotel

Once home to the Boston Police Headquarters, Loews Boston Back Bay Hotel is a haven of charm, sophistication and traditional New England hospitality, right in the heart of Boston's city centre. Formerly home to the old Boston Police Headquarters, this 1920's landmark is a piece of history in itself, a magnificent tribute to the city's long forgotten past. Ideally situated between 3 of the city's most sought after neighbourhoods, the South End, the Theatre District and the Back Bay, this hotel is the perfect place to hang your hat after a hard day of exploring. This hotel might be convenient, but it's much more than just a base. Each of the 225 guestrooms combine luxury, comfort and elegance to ensure the most comfortable stay. As well as state-of-the-art facilities, each beautifully renovated guestroom features soft lighting, modern decor and furnishings and decadent Frette bed linen. If you can bear to leave the comfort of your room, why not mingle with the locals and get a feel for the real Boston as you sample some delicious New England fare at the Precinct Kitchen and Bar, or venture out to enjoy a spot of retail therapy at nearby Newbury Street.

I stayed here for two nights for business and was impressed how friendly the staff was. The hotel is very unique as it used to be the police station. My room was very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed the large shower with two heads. I would certainly stay again!

Hotel is fine, location good. But the fact that they charge every guest a $20 amenities fee that is not included in the listed room price is unethical. It does not matter that they give you a gift certificate for Uber and for the restaurant and whatever else. If you are charging every guest this fee it should be reflected in the published room… Read more

It does not matter that they give you a gift certificate for Uber and for the restaurant and whatever else. If you are charging every guest this fee it should be reflected in the published room price. By doing this it can appear that their rooms are less expensive than other hotels that do not have surprise fees they add to a room rate. Read less

I visited the hotel recently on a business trip and found the rooms to be very nice and comfortable! Our bags hadn't arrived on our flight and the hotel were amazing at providing us the toiletries we needed and checking we were ok - they even went out to the shop to buy something I needed! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel!
