Loews Boston Back Bay Hotel

Boston, USA

The hotel

Once home to the Boston Police Headquarters, Loews Boston Back Bay Hotel is a haven of charm, sophistication and traditional New England hospitality, right in the heart of Boston's city centre. Formerly home to the old Boston Police Headquarters, this 1920's landmark is a piece of history in itself, a magnificent tribute to the city's long forgotten past. Ideally situated between 3 of the city's most sought after neighbourhoods, the South End, the Theatre District and the Back Bay, this hotel is the perfect place to hang your hat after a hard day of exploring. This hotel might be convenient, but it's much more than just a base. Each of the 225 guestrooms combine luxury, comfort and elegance to ensure the most comfortable stay. As well as state-of-the-art facilities, each beautifully renovated guestroom features soft lighting, modern decor and furnishings and decadent Frette bed linen. If you can bear to leave the comfort of your room, why not mingle with the locals and get a feel for the real Boston as you sample some delicious New England fare at the Precinct Kitchen and Bar, or venture out to enjoy a spot of retail therapy at nearby Newbury Street.

The best part of this hotel tragedy was pulling up outside its facade and admiring the building. We had two rooms booked well in advance ( well over three months ago) both rooms were in the same category and we had requested same floor .One room was so small we spent 6 nights tripping over each other whilst the other was bigger but old and… Read more
The best part of this hotel tragedy was pulling up outside its facade and admiring the building. We had two rooms booked well in advance ( well over three months ago) both rooms were in the same category and we had requested same floor .One room was so small we spent 6 nights tripping over each other whilst the other was bigger but old and dated. The real issue with this hotel is how management deals with a guest complaint . Not only are they happy to argue the point but they are either incapable or unwilling to get on the front foot and deal with it .On no less than 4 occasions did the opportunity arise to address our complaint ,when they did the repeated the insult that caused the issue initially with one of our party. Having stayed at other Loews Hotels and having enjoyed the experience it was hard to believe that Loews Boston belongs to the same organisation . Read less

We went as a family for a few days away and had the best time. Great location, brilliant service and a great bar and restaurant too. Would definitely return and recommend. Complimentary hot drinks all day were also welcomed with the cold weather and the kids loved the hot chocolate. Loews also made the hotel feel and look super Christmassy. Great… Read more

The hotel has a restaurant & a bar so working from the hotel or staying in due to bad weather is an option. The restaurant & lounge/bar are excellent as well. Location is wonderful in walking distance of Boston’s attractions. As with most hotels in the city of Boston there is no self parking only valet but we did not mind having valet service especially during the cold rainy days. Read less

Just had a lovely two night stay at Loews. Friendly check in staff, good size room that was very clean and free coffee in the lobby, which was a nice bonus. The only negative was the water pressure in the shower. The bed was extremely soft and I would prefer a harder mattress but that’s just personal preference. I would stay here again if visiting… Read more
