4/5 is seriously very good. Let's start off, why isn't it 5/5? The bar area had a little problem with fruit flies. It was a recent thing and it takes about a week to get rid of them, but still, our paths met. The door to the room's bath was insanely difficult to close. The toilet isn't soft-close. It was a recent thing and it takes about a week to get rid of them, but still, our paths met. The door to the room's bath was insanely difficult to close. The toilet isn't soft-close. The walls are a bit thin, so you'll definitely hear your neighbors and people in the hall. That's it. Just a bunch of little things. So what was right? Loved the staff. Each and every person was attentive, professional, and capable. Obviously I'm picky and they were great. The bar and lobby are a great space that added quite a bit of social atmosphere to The Godfrey. It was really nice to relax with a top-shelf bourbon or cocktail after a busy day of doing whatever. The attached restaurant and coffee shop? 100% I couldn't ask for anything better. The rooms are exceptionally clean and well laid-out. USB chargers everywhere and even wireless pads for your devices. Finally, the location. Literally a block from the Freedom Trail and Boston Common, there are also a wealth of restaurants, bars, clubs, shopping, and sights in a short walk. In Boston, you might be able to do a bit better, but you'll pay a lot more to get it. Read less

My husband and I spent 5 nights at The Godfrey. We were in town for the (epic) Boston Marathon. The hotel is in the perfect location. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to any of the areas you'll want to see: Beacon Hill, Newbury St., Boston Common, Quincy Market, North End etc. Not only is the location great, but all of the staff, from the front doors to the front desk & housekeeping were super friendly and helpful. They even decorated the lobby for runners on race day! Rooms were clean, bright and we appreciated the water and snacks that were replenished daily. You can also borrow a bicycle if you want to explore the city that way. On the pandemic front we felt good about staying at The Godfrey as it has COVID safety protocols in place. Sanitizer is available and staff did their best to ensure guests were wearing masks in common areas. Highly recommend. Read less

The staff always welcomed me and acknowledged me on every passing. Arbon had some great suggestions for dinner close by and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Yannan checked us in, she was a doll. Very informative and helped us schedule a haunted tour. Our haunted tour started late so we figured why not try to lobby bar. Pleasantly surprised!!!! Cassie was the bartender and she makes some of the best drinks I’ve ever had. My friend and I both tried the waitiki martini and peanut butter cup martini. I never new I was so obsessed with martinis before this. The rooms were spotless and beds super comfy. Views were alright but didn’t spend much time in the room so that was ok with me. I’m sad I didn’t have a chance to try there restaurant but I did manage to snag a yummy latte on my way out. Rich flavorful coffee with A+ breakfast sandwiches. I can’t wait to come back to Boston and stay here again. Thank you The Godfrey for helping me have a great time in Boston. Read less
