Usually, it's the customers who get all the attention, but I must give public praise and 5 stars to the Godfrey Boston. We had a reservation for a weekend trip in March for a family of 4 to look at a local college. After reading posted reviews of travelers' experiences, I was wary and wondered if I should switch hotels. In good faith, I called the Godfrey to speak to a manager to discuss my concerns before cancelling the reservation. I was so lucky that day to speak with Lily Nejaime, a supervisor. She *genuinely listened* and then addressed each concern. To this moment I'm still so impressed with her professionalism in the conversation. I'm well-traveled, I interact with a lot of people and I still am in awe of how kind, understanding and professional she was when we spoke. She assuaged me on every single point and assured me how she'd handle each point during my stay. Based on the conversation, I felt 100% confident that we'd have a great experience. (For a point of reference, ONE of my concerns were comments 1 or 2 travelers made that their rooms upon arrival weren't clean. I understand Covid has impacted the hospitality business, but a clean room is non-negotiable. Lily listened, then assured me she'd speak to the staff and would have the manager on duty triple check my room before we checked in.) The Godfrey is a beautiful fun trendy hotel with a fabulous location. The lobby is well-appointed, every single staff member we encountered was helpful and lovely. This hotel went so far out of their way for us that they have my business for life! I will find Godfrey's in other cities. Lily was so attentive from the moment we arrived up until the minute we checked out. She was gracious, friendly, helpful and beyond kind to my kids. They adored her! The Godfrey also supplies bottled water for their guests and packaged snacks! My youngest still talks about the bag of snacks Lily gave her lol To the management at the Godfrey, give Lily a raise. She's an exemplary employee, customer focused, and professional. (Lily if you ever read this, thank you again for stellar customer service! You made our trip to Boston so delightful and I'm so grateful for alllllll of your help!!) To anyone contemplating whether to book--book! The hotel is fun, the rooms are spacious, robes & slippers are provided, snacks & water, great location, a wonderful coffee is attached to the hotel, and the staff truly goes out of their way to provide a personalized boutique hotel experience! Our room was very quiet at night. The beds were comfortable. The rainfall shower was the best! Excellent location on Washington Street right in the heart of downtown. Very close to historic sites, Boston Common, Freedom Trail, shops, restaurants – those that were open anyway. A short walk to Amtrak South Station. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were always greeted upon arriving and acknowledged when leaving. The room and all public areas appear to be clean. We would definitely stay here again. And I would gladly recommend the Godfrey.
