Having stayed at about four or five Boston properties to date (usually for just one night, while transiting through BOS), I have gained a little perspective. This hotel was a four night splurge, starting on Christmas Eve, in celebration of my recent uprooting and self inflicted transplantation from a far off, warmer state. The decor was just to my taste, understated yet luxurious. The bedding was up to my standard, née Bloomies or Restoration. The bathroom was crisp and modern. I ate at the restaurant downstairs for several meals, and found it to be quite tasty, albeit pricey (typical of hotel eateries, of course). The gym was small but sufficient. Of course I liked Charles Street and environs, I’m told it’s pretty much the priciest neighborhood in Boston. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and professional. The only problem was, the room I was in was near the elevator, and the noise emanating from it bothered me. (They changed me once, and with no problem, but I didn’t want to move again). However, in this noisy city, this was the quietest hotel I’ve stayed at. Read less

Close enough to walk to North end and downtown. The bed was very comfortable! We slept great! The cookies and soda available in the hallway was a nice touch. The turn down chocolates were delicious. The hotel was very clean, and think I mentioned it was the first hotel stairwell I’ve been in that smelled like lemon. Would definitely stay here again! Read less

Wonderful hotel, up there with the very best I have stayed at. Spotlessly clean, stylishly decorated, large rooms and faultless service. We checked in at 6am and Jimmy managed to get us in to a room super early. Free cookies, coffee, umbrellas and Fever Tree mixers on each floor were a welcome bonus too. I think the staff made the biggest… Read more

I think the staff made the biggest difference though- friendliness personified, nothing was too much effort. The location was also great. Frankly I can’t wait to get back! Read less
