This past year has been extraordinarily difficult for everyone. With family loss, postponed weddings, and more, we decided to treat ourselves to "staycations" in town. Jason Reynolds says to keep imagination fresh in a world that works overtime to suck it out of us one must travel a different route, even if it's just taking a path one block away from our usual route. These are words we live by. (Get a taste on the On Being podcast.) To live in a city as gorgeous as Boston and only shuffle through our normal routes, or same routines is to miss the joy and the surprises. So, let's talk about the joy and surprises at the Whitney. First the staff. A beautiful hotel is nothing if the staff are uninterested. To a person, the we encountered attentive and delightful staff. We were excited by different views from Beacon HIll to the Charles River. The free treat and drink stations on each floor were hard to resist (okay, didn't resist) and appreciated. The room amenities were top tier. Plush, luxurious. And the personal care items (Grown Alchemist) were new to us and terrific. The Peregrine offered a floor to ceiling view of the courtyard which, in itself, felt transporting. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast there (reviewed separately) but suffice to say this is a partnership that works. Every bite, delicious. The chance conversation with another guest just felt natural, and the atmosphere and personality of the hotel and the restaurant created a family feel. How could you not meet a new friend, just like that? High expectations met. Thanks to all. Hope to see you again soon. Read less

We were travelling as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) and stayed in the Whitney in July 2021. The room was perfect, really spacious, with 2 comfortable double beds and enough space for us not to be under each others feet. The location is great, walking distance from most of the sights we went to see. The best part of the stay was the… Read more

The location is great, walking distance from most of the sights we went to see. The best part of the stay was the service we received from the Moroccan doorman / bellboy / valet....unfortunately I forget his name, but he was amazing. Always ready to help with a warm smile and really looked after us whilst we were there!! He was a real credit to the Whitney and really helped to put a shine on our stay! Read less

We worked with Kimberly at the Whitney for nearly two years on a room block for guests for our June 2020 and postponed to July 2021 wedding held in Cambridge. I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was! Everything about planning a wedding during a pandemic is stressful, but our room block, the contract, the contact with Kim, the canceling and rescheduling, etc was always a total breeze. We stayed in one of the suites overlooking the Red Line T stop and Beacon Hill and it was perfect! The room is spacious and had plenty of room to gather, get ready and have hair and makeup done. The hotel is stunning and in a fabulous location in Beacon Hill. Easy to get to anywhere in the city from this hotel. The staff was SO welcoming and warm with us and all of our guests. We had many guests comment on how lovely their rooms were and how nice it was to get away and enjoy the weekend in Boston. We especially enjoyed the treats, wine, flowers and notes left for us by the hotel throughout the weekend. Their attention to detail and level of service really made our weekend SO special. We even took pictures outside of the hotel with our wedding party before the ceremony. The beautiful hydrangeas outside the hotel were perfect for this. Everything about the hotel was the perfect backdrop for a magical weekend. Special thanks go to Sayed, the valet and bellman, who was so friendly and accommodating! His level of service and kindness was extremely appreciated. I lived in Beacon Hill for 8 years and now live in the Back Bay and I would highly recommend The Whitney Hotel to anybody coming to visit Boston! It's a real gem. Read less
