Recently I spent x6 nights at the property. The centrally-located Waikiki location is about the only positive for this property. The restaurant is dirty, loud, and chaotic. The $9 up charge (even with diamond status) to receive eggs and meat is ridiculous. Cups had caked on food. Food and trash was all over the floor. Waitstaff was more… Read more

The $9 up charge (even with diamond status) to receive eggs and meat is ridiculous. Cups had caked on food. Food and trash was all over the floor. Waitstaff was more interested in watching college football, then assisting guests. The resort fee is a joke. The pool is tiny. The gym has 7’ ceilings and is barely air conditioned. This seems like an underhanded tactic to inflate the nightly rate, then provide added service beyond the doubletree standard. Lobby and public areas are dirty and need updating. Rooms were serviced well by cleaning staff, but they need updating to be at a level commensurate with most Hilton properties. The issues with this property are well passed a call to the front desk to resolve... I will find a different property for future business trips. Read less

Henry the front desk clerk was fantastic! He took the time to explain and make suggestions thoroughly with each guest. I definitely needed that after facing a parking lot on a low floor at a previous hotel. He also gave me some nice suggestions for a late dinner. Great stay! Read less

So we were ripped off $60/night. and we had a 5 night stay and our room was only cleaned twice, after we kept asking. we were constantly running out of towels and soap... never got refills of water, juice, or coffee. bed was super worn, soft and lumpy, very uncomfortable. on the plus side, the staff were wonderfully nice and warm and honestly felt bad for us but couldn't do anything about it. the cleaning staff was short-staffed, overworked, underpaid, and constantly running around cleaning on our floor... they really didn't mean not to get to us, they just only had one person in charge of cleaning a whole floor that was completely full and it was just too much. we really felt bad for her. she was working the whole time and never was able to take a break. we just wish they treated the workers better. The hotel staff were very friendly, valets were super nice.. they told us where to find what we were looking for. There were souvenir shops beside the hotel so you don't have to go very far.. The hotel is near grocery and convenience stores. The pool was awesome, towels were all clean and freshly washed. There was also a gym but we didn't go inside... Our room was clean, we got the room with a king bed and sofa bed (for my daughter and grandson). There was a divider between the living room and the bed (if you want some privacy). The bathroom was also clean, and coffees and teas were free (you won't be charged separately if you consume it). Housekeeping staff were so nice and friendly, the staff always greeted us whenever we see them... my only complaint was that the ice machines were situated on even-numbered floors (we were on the 9th floor) so we had to go to other floors to get ice. Overall, we are so happy we stayed at Doubletree! It was a very pleasant experience and we will definitely choose to stay there again when we come back and visit Honolulu! Read less

The warm chocolate chip cookies the hotel provides at the reception area is definitely very delicious. We also happened to get two small bottles of water in the welcome bag. There was a large dispenser of fruit infused water or coffee service, at the reception area as well. Bring your clean and empty water bottle and refill - just kindly use the cups provided to prevent cross contamination . Swimming Pool is on the mezzanine floor, and it was all mine for the day. I noticed there is a lift to lower persons with disability, so that is a plus. The pool looks right into the gym/workout area, which is a separate enclosed space. Towels provided. Bellhop/luggage storage was very efficient. Our bags were delivered within minutes of check in. The entrance is the second driveway, rather than the first. Parking is charged per day. Uber and other tour buses will stop in front of the hotel for pick up or drop off. Very excellent receptionist and concierge service ( I needed something printed and a tour booked through them). Housekeeping was accommodating (we preferred to have clean up at the end of our stay, saving our towels for a day or two.) Restaurant on premises (be aware of higher than usual prices). Read less
