I made a business trip to Orlando this last week to attend a professional development conference held by a Federal Government agency. If you are a taxpayer, rest assured, the agency I am working for did not go overboard on accommodations. The layout of the facility was inconvenient due to being spaced without weather protection between buildings. The resort provided a cheesy touristy feel that was not conducive to a business atmosphere. I had to walk a distance to get to my building (#10) and room, dragging my baggage by the restaurant, pool and then over the “lagoon”, and UP a flight of stairs to my room. Keep in mind, I have been traveling all day. Well, I then entered my “Resort” room. My first impression was impacted by the dated furnishings with a splash of bright colors; an attempt to cheer me up, I guess. This combination clashed in styles. The room I was assigned lacked an actual recliner or similar chair that would enable proper TV viewing. I had to watch the “limited channeled” TV from bed, something I dislike and have difficulty doing because of my eyeglass design (tri-focal). As far as the main amenities, well there was no location separating adults from children where a person could have a few adult beverages and conduct business without minors present. The beer is priced OK. The restaurant has a somewhat limited menu at higher price points and the Starbucks on site is expensive ($4.00 large plan coffee). I will give the resort credit for having some pretty good conference facilities. I guess that is what the Federal Government put most of their concern on, Lord knows it wasn’t on my full comfort. The room is spacious, but smells like mold. I had to call in for an AC service which was not cleaned in ages. Additionally, there was a roach in my room on arrival. Check-in was slow, only two people handling at least 15 guests. They back of the hotel is open and anyone can go in and out. The room was for $200/night, which I think is twice as… Read more

My Check-in was delayed by several hours, causing me to miss the afternoon session of a conference i was attending. Not just me but about 20+ other people too. Then, during checkout, i asked for an extra hour and i was turned down repeatedly. Surprised to say the least. First time ever in my life i had seen such disaster with delayed check-in… Read more

Then, during checkout, i asked for an extra hour and i was turned down repeatedly. Surprised to say the least. First time ever in my life i had seen such disaster with delayed check-in for a whole group. Finally, super soft beds. They need to be changed. And due to nature of rooms layout, anybody walking past your room caused a disturbance in sleep (days when i slept early). I will not stay at this hotel again, in my future Orlando visits. Read less

We stayed for 6 nights. The staff is friendly but the grounds have trash everywhere in the shrubbery. There is a night club across from building 6 that plays loud music until 2am. One of our mattresses smelled of urine. The cleaning staff didn't replenish towels or toilet paper.

Went back to front desk and requested another room, told them that the crib that was ordered to the first room that we were given has to be brought to the new room. Waited hours and about 10:30 had to call again for the crib which was brought up about 45 min. later. The shower was broken and we could not easily fill a bath to give my daughter a bath and you could hear everything from the bathroom next door Requested more towels twice which we never received. When we received our itemized bill in the morning it had my name, someone elses address with the old room number on it and they were billing me for liquor, which we did not have. Had to go to the front desk, again, and get this sorted out. I feel like I spent more time dealing with issues then being able to celebrate my daughters birthday. The room was clean, it smelled like clorox, and dont waste money on the premium view as it was not worth it at all. Read less
