Once again, we stopped by this resort to further enhance our Disney Xmas experience. Visiting the resorts during the holidays, allows one to enjoy the variety of Disney World's creativity. We just got back from Disneyworld. Stayed within the park on the Port Orleans Riverside hotel. We have stayed there 3 times. Good varity food, easy bus transportation from airport on the Magical Express and to all the parks including Disney Springs (used to be Downtown Disney). You can even take a boat to Disney Springs. The last two times we have purchased the Quick service dining plan. 2 quick service meals which are not sit down service and 2 snacks. For lunch and dinner I personally had bar-b-que chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable and corn bread with a dessert. Flank Steak, fettuccine with chicken. They also have pizza, burgers, etc. Breakfasts are good also variety. Kids menus as well. If you have meals and snacks left you can exchange for different types of candy and snacks before you leave. A dinner is worth 3 snacks such as Walker cookies, candy bars, suckers, gummies, etc. The hotel has 2 sections, the Magnolia which has a southern appearance and the Alligator Bayou more trees. Each section has numerous buildings with rooms. Each section has pools. Read less

We loved our Royal Room at Port Orleans. It was a little on the small side, as we unpacked our clothes, there was no where to move them out of the way but the kids loved it. At night, before lights out, they would watch the tv, which would read them Disney stories. The grounds were beautiful, with lush green grass and the beautiful antebellum home… Read more

We stayed here for a fortnight when we visited Disney World for the first time this April. We had a wonderful 2 weeks, as you'd expect, but this hotel really was an idyllic retreat from the hustle and bustle of the parks. We chose a 'Royal Room' as we thought our daughters would like the theming. They are decorated beautifully with pictures of Tiana and her princess friends as well as Aladdin's lamp taps and beautiful carpets adding to the atmosphere and make it feel really special. The little lightshow/led fireworks display in the headboards was a fab touch. The short walk round to the lobby/food court area is extremely pleasant. I did this a number of times to refill my resort mug and loved looking across the water at the main building with its water tower, boat works and mill wheel. Also, the grounds are very large and you could make a lovely evening out of walking around the bayou section and down to the French Quarter and back (obviously stopping for some beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks!) Absolutely beautiful! Let me think of some negatives... Check in took a while and they hadn't taken any notice of my request for an upstairs room, but they did alter our room on request and gave us extra fastpasses to make up for the amount of time it had taken, so all forgiven. Also, Disney hotel rooms are small when compared to other hotels, so that is worth bearing in mind if that's important to you and, as with all hotels in my experience, there wasn't enough space to dry towels and swimming gear properly but in general we found there was just enough room and were extremely happy. Would I stay again? Yes please! If only I could afford to come back... Read less

The floor was dirty and old gum or candy was stuck to it. Other areas of the room were dirty and broken. The room was decorated with royal decor but it felt less than magical with how unclean and dingy the room was. The resort itself is gorgeous and the kids enjoyed both Riverside and French Quarter pools. The restaurant Boat Wrights Dining Hall was delicious and our waitress made it a magical experience. I plan to return to the restaurant but I do not think I'll be back to the resort to stay. Although Disney quickly addressed our concerns I feel the resort is not worth it. (Picture below is of the magic carpet with some sort of old gum or candy stuck to it) Read less
