Viceroy Washington DC

Dupont Circle and Embassy Row, Washington DC

Virgin rating

The hotel

On the masculine side of sultry, this urban hangout’s dressed in macho greys, with muted jewel accents, monochrome detailing, and warming dashes of wood and distressed leather. It all fits in with the manly ‘cut and thrust’ of Washington DC and the Viceroy's neighbourhood, which they describe as ‘the IT zone’. Steps from 14th Street, the rooms still ooze spaciousness from their former life as apartments. After grabbing free tea or coffee downstairs each morning, you can walk to the White House and other DC delights. Guests staying in summertime can mix days sightseeing with days at the rooftop pool, before joining local crowds at its accompanying bar for creative cocktails and starlit views over the capital.

Excellent experience, We were very nicely greeted by Katyce at the front desk. The rooms were very nice and comfortable, close walking to all the main attractions or easy Uber. The pool was nice but was a bit busy with kids throwing water but was nice overall. The water pressure in the shower could be stronger but the beds were super comfortable… Read more

The pool was nice but was a bit busy with kids throwing water but was nice overall. The water pressure in the shower could be stronger but the beds were super comfortable and overall a great stay. Used the $100 Amex bonus towards breakfast in the cafe and appetizers by the pool. Read less

Wow. This hotel is amazing and the people are even better!!! Prior to arrival, Maria, Karen, Dayshea and Christian fielded all my questions, of which I had a ton! The room was amazing. I heard no noise from the hall. The hvac was not loud. The shower and amenities were perfect— as were the sheets. The rooftop pool is perfect and the bartender (I forget her name) was so kind and talented. The houseman were super cheerful as was the housekeeping staff! The staff a the door were so nice and welcoming! The fitness facility is small— but it does the trick for a nice workout while away from my normal mega gym. The wifi worked perfectly. A super special shout out to the front desk staff. Maria was so kind and cheerful at check-in! Karen treated me like a friend she was always so happy to see! Christian was so kind and gave me all the details about pool access!! Dayshea was super helpful with tips on the city and where to have a great meal nearby! My friend were so impressed that they decided they’d have a staycation there themselves! Treat yourself to this place! And I recommend booking through viceroys website cause they have awesome guest rewards points! I stayed at the Cabo location too… I can’t recommend it enough! Read less

The hotel itself is bright and modern with some quirky touches that give it character. The location is EXCELLENT and a 15 minute walk from the White House and with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and grocery stores (including a Whole Foods) within a few minutes walk. What really made the Viceroy stand out though was the friendliness of the staff bar none. Whilst not a cheap place to stay, it’s hard to imagine more bang for your buck elsewhere. Will be back!
