The hotel

A luxury Miami hotel, not only does the Redbury pride itself on its cool Art-Deco interior and exterior, it’s renowned for great service too. You’ll feel like one of the beautiful people here, your surroundings superb and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. For spectacular views head on up to the rooftop pool, a great place to while away a few lazy hours with waitress service on hand. Guests also enjoy priority access to the fitness centre, spa and beauty salon at neighbouring hotels, the spa we particularly recommend for a deserved spot of pampering! Unique touches such as record players and albums in rooms really set this hotel apart — Bob Marley and Jack Johnson anyone? And, although you’re footsteps from all the nightlife as well as an abundance of restaurants, one of the best in the area is on-site. Cleo — hailed as one of the hottest in the US — is presided over by award-winning chef, Danny Elmaleh. Sharing plates, mezzes, flatbreads and handcrafted cocktails are all on the menu in an atmosphere that’s as relaxing as it is exciting. Don’t miss out!

Decent hotel less than 2 blocks from the beach. Rooms are not too big, not too small. The record player in the room adds a quirky touch. No bedside charging capability as far as I could find. Decent hotel less than 2 blocks from the beach. Rooms are not too big, not too small. The record player in the room adds a quirky touch. No bedside charging capability as far as I could find. You can hear EVERYTHING in the hallway, which isn’t conducive to a good night’s sleep - and the highest setting for the fan is low, so you can’t use that to drown out the noise. The air also blows right over the head of the bed, which is pretty annoying. The sinks are wide and flat, so water splashes everywhere. And if you want to fill up the sink for any reason, you can’t because there’s no stopper. The shower was fine and the continental breakfast was good. The valet and hotel entrance are on the side street (18th). The street is full and narrow - I had to double-park. Then the valet left my car running with the keys in it. I had to ask him, if he wasn’t going to immediately move the car, could he please remove the key so it wouldn’t be stolen. I shouldn’t have to request that. Getting the car was also not easy. They asked for 20 minutes notice. After 10 minutes, I went outside because they weren’t busy. After another 10 minutes, a car was dropped off with valet. The attendant who took that car came back 10 min later with mine - so no one had even gone to get it when I requested it?!! 30+ minutes to get the car at a not busy time, and it cost more than $40. There’s a lot I want to praise this hotel for. Specifically, they have some brilliant staff. In particular the team working on the bar and waiting on tables at Cleo, the in-house restaurant. But what I cannot overlook is the management’s disregard of safety. 1) The hotel was affected by a power outage that put all of the hotels in the block into darkness. This was absolutely out of the hotel’s control. But the hotel management is responsible for how their staff handled this emergency. Instead of reassuring guests as the alarms sounded and the fire service entered the hotel, their staff laughed and joked and spent their time looking out of the windows. Guests were unsure if they should evacuate or not. Guests with infants were clearly distressed. There was no formal communication until the next day. This was negligence. 2) I was trapped in one of the elevators for a few minutes. I rang the alarm and banged on the door. Nobody answered. I only escaped when one of the cleaning staff came to my aid. It took an hour for a manager to call me to discuss this, and the elevator remained open to guests for all that time, risking further accidents and distress. So the Redbury is well located, has a lovely restaurant and bar, but it does not operate as a safe environment. Stay here, and take the risks. Read less

We spent a long weekend at this hotel and had a very enjoyable time. Location is great, right in the heart of South Beach. Rooftop pool is small but very nice. Access to Delano beach chairs is a luxury. Our room was not facing the main road and was quiet. Decoration is very nice. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Good value.

Rooms are good, bathroom fine - decent facilities in the bedroom. Pool area is spacious, but isn't laid out that well. There's a lack of umbrellas around the pool, so if you want to be by the pool, but under shade there wasn't a great selection. There isn't a bar at the pool side, which seems a bit weird. There's a bar downstairs but that doesn't open until 5. The advice was to go next door to the venue next door to get a drink. Restaurant serves really good food. I was skeptical of how the food would be, but the food is definitely worth a visit. The ambience in the restaurant is okay, the staff - especially the bar staff are really lovely. One of the Managers (male) seemed to have radar ears for breaking glass/plates and did shout at one member of staff within my hearing - not great. Would l stay here again? No. It is a good hotel, but all felt a little disjointed and the pool deck was a disappointment for me. Read less
