The Redbury South Beach

South Beach, Miami

The hotel

A luxury Miami hotel, not only does the Redbury pride itself on its cool Art-Deco interior and exterior, it’s renowned for great service too. You’ll feel like one of the beautiful people here, your surroundings superb and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. For spectacular views head on up to the rooftop pool, a great place to while away a few lazy hours with waitress service on hand. Guests also enjoy priority access to the fitness centre, spa and beauty salon at neighbouring hotels, the spa we particularly recommend for a deserved spot of pampering! Unique touches such as record players and albums in rooms really set this hotel apart — Bob Marley and Jack Johnson anyone? And, although you’re footsteps from all the nightlife as well as an abundance of restaurants, one of the best in the area is on-site. Cleo — hailed as one of the hottest in the US — is presided over by award-winning chef, Danny Elmaleh. Sharing plates, mezzes, flatbreads and handcrafted cocktails are all on the menu in an atmosphere that’s as relaxing as it is exciting. Don’t miss out!

We had a great stay at The Redbury over the holidays. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the hotel was in a great location in the heart of South Beach. We walked everywhere. Will definitely be staying there again!

I called downstairs and mentioned it and was told “oh yeah we will send it up” get a knock on the door and a guy literally just hands us a bottle of wine without saying a word and leaves. No wine glasses or a tray or anything. We couldn’t figure out how to drain the tub and we called the front desk and the young lady there did not know good customer service. “You want me to drain your tub?” No we want you to send us someone or let us know how to drain it. She says maintenance is gone for the day but she would try calling them. She doesn’t get back to us. We call 5 times, no response. We walk down there and she’s on the phone but they have multiple lines, she could’ve placed us on hold instead of not answering. And she just stares at us when we complain about our issue. No apologies for the inconvenience. Thankfully a young man who was about to leave the hotel (maintenance) helped us out and it turns out the drain was jammed. It took a good 30 minutes to figure out was was wrong. There’s a restaurant “Cleo” that’s attached and online it states there is breakfast available there, turns out it’s closed and no one mentioned it at check in. That same young lady gave us that same blank stare when we asked if they serve breakfast there and said no it’s closed. How are we supposed to know that? They need to work on training their “world class hosts” . (That’s what they call them on their website) I will say they did let us check in early since the room was available which is always nice. The room was nice also. We got the corner suite with the tub. It was a staycation for our 3 year wedding anniversary so it was a little disappointing that we didn’t receive the best of service. I stayed in The Redbury for 5 days and greatly enjoyed the experience. Far from my first visit to Miami, this was the most personable stay that I experienced in a hotel. I'd like to thank the team and express a special thank you to Sebastian who consistently provided helpful advice to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. The stay in The Redbury is also helped by the hotel's collaboration with sister properties which includes beach chairs, gym, etc. The location is very convenient as the hotel sits right on the corner of Collins Ave and 18th Street with straight access to the beach. The hotel has a pleasant roof deck. The basic room where I stayed was on the small side with the door opening right into the room. The bathroom was very nice. I found the cleanliness exemplary. A couple of notes that did not take away from the overall experience: 1) a relative lack of electric outlets 2) the unit on the higher floor was occupied by a heavy individual and his steps could be well-heard despite the carpeting. I’ll start off with the good points... this hotel is obviously one of the older ones in the area however I was quickly surprised by the nice upgrades they had made to modernize the interior. The room was quite large and had convenient lighting features and upgraded bathroom. The bed was also comfortable. Now the bad points.... I’m usually very understanding as I know sometimes things happen. This was also a lower priced hotel compared to neighboring hotels and I am realistic with “you get what you pay for”. That being said, when I took a shower and pulled one of the TWO towels that were generously supplied, I found an obvious blood stain (possibly feces) on the towel. Not a drop but a 3-4 inch streak of fluid on the bright white towel. I didn’t touch it of course but it looked fresh... almost as if the towel had not have even been laundered. So much so that I asked my wife if she cut herself shaving her legs or something. Later that evening we came to the hotel to find that our key wouldn’t let us in the room. We went down to the lobby and found an empty desk with a sign saying they be back in no more than 5 minutes. We waited about 10 minutes before finally calling the hotel phone number (this was around 9pm). The phone was answered from somewhere and the concierge arrived a short time later. He escorted to our room and used some electronic thing to “fix” our door. Our key opened the door and all was well (so we thought). The next morning I went out to get coffee and found myself locked out of our room again. Thankfully, my wife had stayed behind and was able to let me back in. Later that morning at check out I made the hotel aware of the concerns I had and was met with barely an acknowledgment let alone an apology. I wasn’t expecting the room to be comped or anything but something, any kind of a reaction would have been appreciated. My complaints weren’t being nit picky (in my opinion). I would have been flabbergasted if a customer told me what I told them. Anyways..... I’m guessing this isn’t a common occurrence but I won’t be going back to find out. Read less

It wasn’t clean enough. The floor was visibly dirty. It needed a serious deep cleaning. The location was amazing the staff was ok. There was only one person who was exceptional and… Read more
