Otherwise, it's an older, out-dated, tired looking Marriott. For the same price, the other chain hotels in the vicinity are updated and don't smell so musty. We were pleased airport signage relative to COVID, but when we got to the tram trains from the gates to the terminal it was business as usual, as if COVID did not exist. People jammed in as usual. There was no signage even remotely suggested distancing, no efforts to somehow manage capacity. There were people with masks pulled down. My wife and I had KN95 masks with full face shields. If you are going to be using Dulles during COVID, I strongly recommended adding the plastic shields. Read less

If you need a quick in and out place to stay for a short visit to Washington, the Washington Dulles Airport Marriott is definitely the way to go! The hotel is conveniently located about 4 minutes from the airport for easy access. The shuttle runs often so you can pick the times that you need to leave without a long way. When we checked in, we were greeted by an absolutely incredible ambassador for Marriott named Sharron (from the Philippines). Sharron greeted us and immediately processed us for our room without delay. She expertly explained the process for ordering food due to the Covid virus protocols. She also ensured that we would receive our Marriott Rewards benefits. We were very pleased and impressed with her outgoing personality and she definitely represented the proud Marriott hotel chain! The rooms are a bit of a walk, but the long halls make them easy to find. The open foyer is spacious with plenty of hand sanitizer available. Once we got to our room, we followed Sharron's instructions to call when we wanted to order our food. Since it was for a very short stay, the fast ordering was convenient for our needs. Be sure to try the Marriott Burger! It was cooked to perfection!!! The hotel does have laundry facilities in case you need to wash your clothing. There are also snack bar areas next to the front deck in case you want a quick snack or something to drink. There is also a small business center (computers, etc) and an ATM machine available. The rooms are simple and comfortable for a short stay. The thermostat also held the room at a perfect temperature and it was simple to operate. This is a very quiet and accommodating hotel, where the location is absolutely perfect when traveling and waiting for your flight. Overall, I think you will be pleased with this hotel and what it has to offer. I'd highly recommend this hotel to all of my friends, and I have told them to stop by to say hello to Sharron. She is a wealth of information and represents Marriott well! Read less

Had it not been linked to the Marriott chain I would have scored it one score higher, but the expectations I had, given its association, left me disappointed. Covid has created an opportunity for the industry to prove their value in customer care, not an excuse for failing. Compared with the many hotels I have stayed in recently in the UK, Europe and South Africa this hotel fails on so many levels. I did not feel at ease, nothing in the room suggested any extra care had been taken to prepare the room. Apart from the little pack of antiseptic pack of 5 wipes beside the bed and the tv remote being in a plastic bag. No at reception or in room information was provided as to the measures the hotel had undertaken in its covid-19 protocol to prepare the room for a safe stay. Don't Marriott have a corporate covid policy in place? Very limited menu, no room service, collect from reception desk when its ready. That said the food was hot and tasty. The room was noisy could hear the people next door cursing when they spilt something and using the washroom. No safe in the room. The other blessing is that given the few flights the aircraft noise was infrequent but very clear. Reception staff were charming and the brightest thing I came across in the hotel did their best especially given the dismal, poorly lit lobby they had to look out on from their protective shield. Breakfast...glad I ate something last night. All in all rather depressing for all concerned I think, especially in these times. Read less
