This is not a typical stay, as many amenities are shut down, and I am sure they are short staffed. Even so, The staff has tried their best to accommodate any request's I have made. They have been very helpful and nice.

We decided to stay over a night in DC and found the W hotel. This hotel is about a one minute walk from the White House and we had a view of the Washington Monument from our room! The rooftop renovation was a welcome site, because they replaced the plastic see-through tarp that allowed the 180 degree view of the monuments, with a permanent glass covering. The lobby really didn't need renovated, because it was awesome before, but they renovated it anyway. The room renovation was a disaster. The materials are cheaper, and they cut down floor plan square footage to create more rooms. They used to have rooms with larger spa like bathrooms with glass showers and thick stone tile flooring.....those large bathrooms are completely gone. This tells me they want guests in DC, not in their rooms....which seems contrary to good business sense. Read less

The architecture of the hotel is pretty good, the location is very convenient, it is convenient to go everywhere, especially the White House. Very cold front desk. Rooms are small, probably the smallest W hotel rooms I’ve stayed in.

The hotel was so busy with conferences, and we were on holiday, however, you don't queue anywhere. The lifts are always available on the ground floor which is amazing. The decor is fresh, quirky, interesting, and striking. Rooms are so luxurious, with top class bedding, a waterfall shower, and great coffee. Breakfast is out of the world, with outstanding service. Lovely to go to the bar on the top floor at night to enjoy the lights of Washington DC. We had a pleasant stay. Read less
