Camps Bay Village

Cape Town, South Africa

The hotel

Living like a local gives you an incredible insight into a city – and that’s how Camps Bay Village makes you feel. It even gives you the chance to fire up the braai for a barbecue in true South African style. Giving you the extra space of an apartment and all the convenience of a self-catering base, you’ll feel like a Cape Town resident in no time – albeit one with a couple of swimming pools and a des-res moments from the silky sands of Camps Bay Beach. If you don’t feel like cooking (this is a holiday after all), you’re also just moments from the bars and restaurants of Victoria Road. It’s not just dining on your doorstep though, with sports like tennis and squash, hangouts like cafés and cocktail bars, and The Promenade’s shopping all in strolling distance.

Cockroache infested dirty apartment. Very shabby dated apartment that needs a total refurbishment. Unable to sleep due to cockroach watch required. Avoid at all cost. Spoilt our arrival to South Africa but thank god the rest of the trip was superb

Great location and views, clean affordable accommodation in Camps bay. Good customer care and welcoming reception. The staff more helpful we arrived before our check in time but the receptionist welcomed us and offered to look after our luggage

Even though they had cleaned the apartment it was so much ingrown dirt on the floor and along all frames and the furniture was extremely dirty. So disgusting!!!!! Don’t book this place! The only good thing is the location, otherwise terrible and so outdated. When we told the staff that we were so disappointed they did not seem to care much. They promised to call back and let us know if we could get some money back but no one called. Really bad!!!! Read less

Great sea view of Camps Bay from the balcony, overall the apartment was adequate it is not luxury in any way but ideal for a short break and had most basic things you would need in an apartment, we did have to climb up to the fourth floor via a narrow stairway with our luggage so bear this in mind, however the location and views made up for it. On arrival Charlene checked us in and during our stay she looked after us nothing was too much trouble, previous reviews had commented on unhelpful staff but we did not experience this at all. Being able to use the Sandy Bay Hotel Beach Club was great for relaxing around the pool, the food also was excellent for lunch and to eat in the evening. Overall this was a good value stay in the Camps Bay area. Read less

On our first night the lock broke and we could not re-enter the apartment. The staff took trouble to sort this out including two maintenance men who stayed behind after they were due to go home. Queenine on reception was helpful and attentive. Overall lovely staff.
