When I was a kid I remembered seeing advertisements for Circus Circus that my grandparents would bring home after visiting Las Vegas. Imagine walking into this place and having all of your childhood hopes and dreams of what you thought this place would be, shattered by the reality of this dumpster. Think “Giant Cheap Motel.” That’s exactly what this place is. If all you need is a place to crash for the night, then by all means you can’t beat the price. The rooms and furnishings were outdated and very worn out (any decent hotel would have tossed the furniture in our room long ago). The elevators looked banged up and had numerous buttons that didn’t even work. The list goes on and on. You get what you pay for. Again, it’s cheap but for some families it may fit their budget where they may otherwise never be able to afford a trip to Las Vegas.

It's okay. You could definitely do worse on the strip

First off, let me say I'm a little bit biased when it comes to the Circus Circus. My parents took me here every summer as a child from about the late 70's into the mid 80's and I enjoyed it every time. I have some great memories of this place. First off, let me say I'm a little bit biased when it comes to the Circus Circus. My parents took me here every summer as a child from about the late 70's into the mid 80's and I enjoyed it every time. I have some great memories of this place. At age 50, when I returned to this hotel for a two night stay, a lot of those memories came back. So much of this hotel has remained exactly the same as I remember it from 35-40 years ago. So, for nostalgia reasons, the look of the hotel didn't particularly bother me the way it might bother someone who didn't go here every summer in their childhood.
The main casino area does look a bit dingy and the carpets don't look particularly fresh or clean. This was something my wife noticed immediately. Our room had some issues as well. There was a blood stain on one of the towels, and the panels around our windows were peeling off, and there was mold. Also, when we called to ask for two extra pillows, we were told that "there are no extra pillows." I've never been to a hotel where they have no extra pillows. A minor complaint, but still.
Once you go up to the next level (where the Adventure Dome and Starbucks are), things get better. This area was much newer and wasn't around when I was a kid. The area is clean and looks much more modern. It's kind of like a dramatic jump from the 70's era part of the hotel to the 2000's. Even my kids said "Oh, this area is a lot nicer."
The Midway hasn't changed much since I was a kid. Some of the same games are still there. It used to only cost a quarter to play most of the games back then, now it's God knows how many credits taken from a pre-paid game card. I think 10 dollars gets you maybe 2-3 games. Too bad they can't keep their 70's era prices up in the Midway. The circus acts were pretty much the same as well, but we enjoyed watching them.
My check in and check out experience was easy because we arrived early. The later you arrive, be prepared for long waits. Also, if you plan to get around by monorail, be prepared to walk 3/4 of a mile to the Westlake Hotel to find the nearest monorail station. It's unfortunate that the monorail couldn't have a stop closer.
Overall, this is an okay hotel for the price. If you're only paying $25 a night, you can't expect perfection. You're here because a.) you're on a budget, and b.) you have kids and want a hotel that they will probably enjoy more than you will. I can't recommend the hotel for couples coming strictly for gambling and drinking and partying, but for families on a budget, you can do far worse.

Dumpy.

The whole check-in process took nearly an hour. Then because of the sprawly parking situation, another 30-45 minutes to get our luggage from the disgusting garage. Smelled like pot in the hallways, elevator, parking lot, and where it didn't smell like pot, it reeks of cigarettes.
Honestly, I think this place soured our whole feel of Vegas from…

Honestly, I think this place soured our whole feel of Vegas from the start. Can't beat the price, but I'd pay much more if I were to go to Vegas in hopes for a more enjoyable experience.

Blankets are very thin. it was good for the price & close enough to Mount Zion National Park. Most likely, my last visit to Vegas. The billboards alone are pretty bas for kids to see even while driving.

Nice when you get the room cheap

Check in line was very long. I think 20 minutes before I got to the front desk. I had very limited time in Reno and unfortunately would be in the room for only a few hours :/ That said, bed is awesome. Room is big and clean. Shower has great pressure. Wish I was able to stay longer.

Payments are being prioritised based on when the request was made, working in order from March 2020 onwards. We will always try to process refunds at the earliest opportunity, for requests before August our maximum timeframe is 120 days. As we are steadily reducing the maximum processing time for each new request, for refund requests made in August, we expect the maximum processing time to be 80 days, from the date the refund is requested. For those requesting a refund in September, we expect it to be processed within a maximum of 60 days, and then reduce to 30 days for refunds requested in October, before returning to normal levels.
To finalise the amendment, one of our customer advisors will phone you. We need to work through amend requests in departure date order so we can prioritise those with the most imminent travel plans, so you may have a longer wait than usual until we’re able to ring you back. We will help everyone that wants to move their holiday.
