We stayed recently at the hotel when in the area for the Food Network festival in Miami. It was a more affordable alternative to the overpriced properties in South Beach, and only a 10-15 drive to the events by Uber or Lyft. The hotel is bright and clean with very large guest rooms and an excellent complimentary breakfast. Rooms are equipped with a full-sized fridge and microwave, so you can stock up on food (there's a large Publix grocery store only 5 minutes away on foot). The pool area is quiet, comfortable and so lovely that we did not once bother to cross the street to use the beach during any of the 4 days that we were there, even though the hotel itself does offer chairs and umbrellas on the beach as part of its resort fee. Bike rentals are also included in the fee, as are complimentary water bottles daily. No review of the hotel of course would be complete without mentioning its amazing staff which, to a person, is friendly, helpful and hospitable. Our only disappointment was than there is no food or bar service at the pool. Read less

Never had a problem with any Marriott but this place, this room, is awful. Not sure how the rest of the hotel is but I’m disgusted! I filled out the form because it’s the middle of the night but if we aren’t moved to a decent room, and comped this dismal night, first thing in the morning than Marriott Corporate gets calls, letters, etc. This now throws day 2 of vacation out of whack because I’m up all night. Didn’t realize how dirty the floor was until I walked barefoot just before bed. OMG! I’m livid. If there are no better rooms, they need to move us to another Marriott on their dime! Read less

Great rooftop pool, plenty of parking. Very near Bal Harbor shops (3 mins drive). Free use of beach bikes. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially general manager Michael Lauria. We checked in and there was some maintenance in our room. He got us free drinks and we waited only a few more minutes. Staff always greeted us with smiles and a warm welcome. Mr. Lauria seemed to be always around, ensuring a smooth running operation and helping guests have a great time. Stayed Dec 30-Jan 4. Family of 4. Read less

We stayed as a couple for a weekend in early February. We chose this property primarily for the location. It is not an especially upscale property, but then again, it's a Residence Inn, but we found their rooms to be decent. Their $22 "resort fee" is extortion as it there's no reason I should pay $22 for two bottles of water or beach chairs I didn't ask for. The $38 parking fee is also highway robbery, but all the hotels in Miami are guilty of the same tactics. I was aware of this ahead of time and made peace with it. If there's a hotel in the Miami area that doesn't charge these ridiculous added "fees", I'd love to know. Our actual stay was wonderful. The staff is terrific. Exceptionally attentive to their guest's needs. Our 1-bedroom suite was just enough space. Although we were on the first floor adjacent to the street, we barely hear the traffic. The soundproofing was great and our entire stay was quiet and relaxing. The pool was ok but nice and in the middle of the property, they have an open-air deck with lounge chairs which is nice and quiet. However, housekeeping is pretty poor. They take their time coming around and I had to call to request two of my days. Additionally, being across from the beach, the floor was continually sandy and they don't seem to have a good way to clean the floor. Our floor felt sandy the entire stay. Overall, we enjoyed and would come again. Read less
