This is an ok place to stay for one or two nights, the lobby is ok, service is friendly. Rooms? Ok, they are comfortable but lack completely on decoration, you feel like you are exactly at an average Inn, just fair enough to spend the night. Ok, they are comfortable but lack completely on decoration, you feel like you are exactly at an average Inn, just fair enough to spend the night. Pool is just a typical “motel by te road pool” with a fence around it. I think they could do so much better adding some touches of warmth deco to the rooms, that would make the guest feel like they want to come back at night and relax at the bar, maybe take a nice shower... but no, this hotel room didn’t make me feel like I wanted to spend an extra minute of my day in there. Now ... the management told us the garage had flooded a few weeks ago, therefore, no elevators from the garage, yup, had to drag our luggage all the way from the garage to the lobby ... wouldn’t come back to stay here ever, unless there’s not another options 20 miles around. The Surfside FL Residence Inn was a great stay, most of all due to the terrific staff -- Ryan, Joelle, Bryant, Jaqueline, and Michel were standouts along with friendly (new) Manager Michael Laurie, who empowers this staff to solve problems and make guests feel "well taken care of". The hotel is very clean, the breakfast the standard RI fare - plentiful and with enough variety to eat healthfully -- or not! Great coffee too... no need for Starbucks. A half block to the beautiful beach across a busy road was no problem as there are large breaks in the traffic allowing for an easy crossing. Bikes are available which we really enjoyed (though many were a bit beat up - they would do well to get new bikes since that is one of the perks they list to justify a $22 resort fee.) There is a wonderful bike trail close to the beach and bike lanes all over Miami Beach. Our 4th floor room was a studio overlooking the pool area with a kitchette that had a microwave, full fridge and coffee maker. Upon request I was delivered a portable burner so I could make a couple easy pasta dinners. There was a King and a Sofa bed -- not too comfy until, upon a mention of this to Michel, he fixed it up with a fabulous cushy topper -- he made a real nest out of it! (Thank you, Michel!) Read less

Stayed there with kids and grandkids for Xmas week. Free breakfast is clutch with little kids. Nice rooms, beach across the street, restaurants and a supermarket down the block. Great vacation! Would go back again.

We stayed one night after arriving early into Ft.Lauderdale for our cruise out of Miami the next day. The beach is across the street. The hotel pool is lovely but not super exciting for a 5yo. Rooms are nice. Breakfast is a step above a normal Residence Inn and the breakfast ladies were so sweet and kind. They made us smile often! One thing to keep in mind is that many of the nearby restaurants are closed starting at sundown Friday. The pizza place and grocery store are open and within walking distance. Read less

Stayed here 2 nights mid-week. Hotel is one block (less really) from the beach. A wonderful beach! The hotel has a great pool and outdoor area. The staff were all awesome especially the check in folks that helped me find a quiet room. Breakfast was standard RI fare. Little bar thats open nightly. Courtyard area too. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well (though it was only 70s). So why only 4 stars? A few items. One the shower had no door so water sprays all over the floor. Its rusting out the base trim. Two, the hallways are long and wide and act as an echo chamber. Its loud for my taste. Three - the tile in the rooms looks VERY dirty. It was. I didn't even walk in my bare feet. It was disgusting. I saw this in two rooms, so assume its wide spread. Read less
