This hotel is perfect for families that want to go to Publix and grab food and drinks on their own. The bar is not open yet, I guess due to Covid. There are only 3 rooms with balconies and you do have to grab your chairs from the concierge desk and take a very quick walk to the beach across the street. Pool is nice. People are friendly and it is clean. Would definitely stay again if I was taking my daughter again! Thanks for a nice stay! Read less

I've stayed in over 50 Marriotts and this is actually a very good hotel all around, However SHAME on this hotel that they advertise (which you MUST pay for) beach chairs to use (a short 3 minute walk to beach) and they only stock a handful of them. these chairs are the cheap portable one which only cost about 30 bucks, but as you have to carry… Read more

We were here 2 days and both mornings we wanted to go the beach and by 10am, they were out of them? we pay for something (almost covering the cost of them) and dont get anything but a towel? there were many disappointed couples there as well with same story. DONT stay here unless you call the hotel first and verify that you they have purchased new chairs. Read less

We stayed for 3 days over spring break, I’ve stayed in Surfside several times before and love that it is removed from the scene of south beach but has access to great restaurants in Bal Harbour. This was my first time staying here and it was a somewhat disappointing experience. I selected the hotel based upon its proximity to the beach and what appeared to be beachside service. While I understand COVID has played a big role in the operations of the hotel, every other hotel on the beach has chairs and service. Not here. When we arrived, we were told that chairs are provided at the hotel to bring down to the beach, fine. Except 2 out of the 3 days, there were no chairs available and on day one we were provided with flimsy white bathroom towels as our beach towels. On the first day I mentioned it to the front desk when we retrieved our bags. He offered us a refund of our resort fee for the day and apologized saying he’s never heard of it before. Well lucky us, it happened again the following day. When I asked for the chairs, the guy said there are none left. When I expressed disappointment, he looked at his watch (it was 11:30am) which I interpreted as him saying well what do you expect this late in the day. When I spoke to the front desk the following morning about the lack of chairs, they said well it’s first come first serve. I said it was disappointing to be charged a resort fee with close to no amenities as pictured on the website. He said there was a disclaimer on the website that said services may be altered due to COVID. I suggest they remove images of beach chairs and services so to not disappoint future guests. Read less

Prices did not change and are very high for very limited services . Breakfast is very very limited choices and quality , Wi-Fi at pool is absent or completely unstable. The hotel is really benefiting of the COVId situation for their benefit but definitely not to satisfy their guest including their loyalty ones. Arriving in my room I found in my bed a blanket completely dirty with traces of blood . UNACCEPTABLE for such a standard hotel Read less
