After the long airport ride and arriving to the resort I still was a bit nervous. Checking in was easy the employees were the nicest!. I started to get down once I got to the room Although it was clean it’s OLD and not the best smell when you walk in but it’s very clean! Besides the room I LOVE THIS PLACE! Food was great , drinks were awesome , water park is a kids dream . My only 2 complaints is Not having straws too many people drinking off the same glasses I was NOT a fan of! And the old rooms! I had originally booked in the Dominican but after hearing some reports about hfmd at our other resort i changed within days prior to my trip. I had done alot of research on all my other choices and had to quickly scan over reviews and was feeling a bit uncertain on how this vacation was going to end up since i was looking at something different. I will state i was fairly surprised tho. The airport was slow travelling with a 1 year old but we cant fault the hotel for that and the process of arrival to it but once here it went pretty well. Initially we were placed in a room that did not work for us personally (#2116), The bathroom layout was a bit odd especially the toilet placement and the shower placement. The room smelled a bit musty and the lighting was much desired. The real issue was this room was facing the main area where they do shows and fairly close which ended up being a surprise later the first night when a show started and it came through loudddddddd and the room almost felt like it was shaking which was a problem for a family with a small child as she was sleeping but luckily it being a long day she slept through it. I had spoken to front desk staff and they had sorted it out for us and the next day we had been moved to a room on the far side of the resort closer to the water park. This new room was a godsend, it was quiet, it smelled nice, the bathroom layout was not awkward and we were fairly close to a wifi spot which meant we would intermittantly get wifi. On that note Wifi is lacking, only in a few areas is it accessable and would prefer to see their coverage expanded. The restaurants were mostly good, my wife liked things on the more well down aspect so at times she was a little put off but those are personal preferences. The japaneese restaurant was enjoyable, one night a little slow but an experience i did twice. Coral cafe was good especially for breakfest, the grills were best for lunch especially if you prefer your food scorched. The grill in the waterpark serves pizza after a certain time which might be good for some smaller kids who are a tad picky. I enjoyed the jerk hut which was a quick snack you could get. The cafe seemed the most under utilized but was airconditioned and had a friendly staff there and we visited it daily with our daughter who enjoyed the banana bread there. The pools were fairly clean and not many complaints. I will say the big one by Coral cafe can seem quite cold compared to the infinity one by the beach which always seeemed alot warmer. The beach was nice althou we had red flag everyday we were there so we made the best of it. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, might be the cute lil 16month old we had who was very friendly and waved at most staff members in turn being reciprocated. If anyone says staff was rude they are on drugs or they were projecting a attitude themselves which in turn reflected back at themselves as rudeness but I would not complain about staff at all. All in all this trip was a surprise and i did not regret changing at the last second to this resort. Read less

We love Jamaica !! We have been here several times but stayed at different resorts prior.. This resort is not Sandals or Beaches as far as being updated and new and modern .. it is quite outdated . However that said the people are very nice and the entertainment staff is THE BEST!! love all of them especially Rebel !!’ He was great w my two boys and took a real interest to make sure they were having fun.. The food for an all inclusive is good and the workers all work very hard to accommodate you. I loved the size of the resort which is the main reason why we booked it .. it is small and quaint and easy to get everywhere. We do not like to take shuttles around a resort .. We booked a one bedroom butler oceanfront suite w plunge pool . This is their best room and i think if staying at this resort it is worth to get the big room. Granted there is minimal furniture to put your clothes away but you can ask for extra hangers . It allows you to have a separate area for the kids and a gigantic terrace to relax in if you choose. The butlers are great , there are three in the resort who share the 10 butler rooms. My main complaint was the kids club .. we don’t normally use the facilities but when we walked in to check it out i observed behavior that I did not like . The staff (at the young one it’s ages 3-7) we’re not coddling or motherly or even friendly . Some kids were scared and the atmosphere wasn’t pleasant . On the contrary the staff member Cookie at the age 8-16 kids club was fantastic and welcoming . She was very pleasant w the kids and you can tell she likes children and likes her job too!! Overall i liked the resort , the waterpark and beach was great !! Can’t get 5 stars because the resort needs work and updating and the kids club needs revamping ! Other than that we enjoyed our stay .. Again the entertainment staff was fantastic shout out to all of you — “ice barbie, dj shades , goofy , REBEL, happy feet , flames , dimples and cookie!! After reading a few older reviews I started to panic and even thought about cancelling.... I'm so glad I didn't. My family (my partner and children of 11 and 3) arrived on Christmas Eve for a week before going on a cruise. The gardens and all the communal areas were kept absolutely beautiful. Throughout the day you could always see someone cleaning and ensuring the grounds were well kept. Some areas looked slightly dated in decor but you can see that the team were trying to get this up to scratch by painting etc. The rooms were a little bit dated but clean. Rooms were cleaned everyday and the mini bar stocked up. In all honesty I would say the rooms need a little money spent on them however they are adequate for what you need them for... changing and sleeping. The food there was always hot and there was a good variety. The breakfast buffet on the third day seemed to have less choice but maybe they were waiting on deliveries as it was Xmas. The main entertainment team were absolutely amazing. You can see that they enjoy their job and are amazing with the children. One negative I would say is it wasn't really a place for evening entertainment. It all seemed to end around 10.30pm. Mind you after a full day of beach and the water park this wasn't a massive issue for us. I would suggest that maybe they move the evening entertainment away from the buffet as we seemed to struggle getting a decent seat to watch any shows due to the fact of not eating in the buffet. All in all this is a lovely resort which all the family thoroughly enjoyed and would return. Read less
