Where do I even start? Where do I even start? From the bland buffet food on repeat every day, to not being able to get a dining table during a seven night stay at any of the a la carte restaurants (they claim they don't take reservations yet tables are "booked" until 830pm each night) to dirty beach towels (yes! the beach towels they give you for the sun loungers) and Red Stripe buckets placed under flooded areas of the ceiling... this is NOT A FOUR STAR RESORT. It wasn't until the last day that the matrons decided to top up our soaps and for at least four days the number of towels kept getting less and less. I think it was the fifth day they decided to top up the towels. What else? We bought a Sunwing excursion on the plane to pay in CAD and save 25% but when booking it in at the resort for the following day, they cancelled it on us without even telling us! In fact I am still chasing my reimbursement for what I paid nearly three weeks later and still no luck. This is a very old and outdated resort and no way live up to its claim of being a 4- star "resort." At best it's a 3-star, and even that is pushing it. The buffet restaurant floors are filthy with bird droppings everywhere and there are streaks from used muddy mops everywhere. It is total filth and I would never stay here again even if they paid me. I get it they offer a free child spot but considering the price, it's still not worth it. Try comparing this resort to a true 4-star resort like the Royalton and you will see a big difference. Plus, the pools don't open until 10-1030am so you miss the morning swim. There are no vendors on the beach offering parasailing or similar, so it's really quite a boring strip of beach just for the hotel guests... so boring. And then there is the smell of marijuana all throughout the resort. Yah I get it's Jamaica but as this is supposed to be a kid-friendly resort, this is appalling. I vented my concerns with hotel management, but got nothing in return. C'est la vie. It's a crappy resort and I would not suggest it to anyone. This was my fifth trip to Jamaica in the last six months because I love the island, but this crappy hotel and disappointing staff have seriously made me think twice about returning for future holidays. Let me start off by saying that I am an experienced traveller and I stayed many places in many countries. I am surprised by some of these raving reviews. We had an OK vacation there were some perks but other things that were really unacceptable. We were greeted upon arrival and check-in was OK until we got to the room and there was a king size bed and a pull out couch that pulls out into a twin. I was told specifically that I could request two doubles when I reserved. It took hours and hours for a staff member to come and he proceeded to throw a mattress on top of the twin sofa bed and then put sheets on it for my 6”4 son. There was no way he could sleep on it for the entire week and eventually he came back hours later once I called and put in a proper size queen bed that was uneven but better. This was day one. Please note that we had an oceanfront room. Upon returning back from an excursion day, we laid down to enjoy AC. As I got off the bed to get ready for dinner a cockroach crawled out from the pillow I have been lying on!! I got my son to trap it so we can show the staff and they could address the issue. It took over 30 minutes for anyone to come and the turn down staff suggested that I spray the room before leaving for dinner?! A male and a female were The bed situation was ridiculous and took hours to resolve upon arrival. I could not believe that two staff members suggested (male standing there with the can and female turn down) that a guest use the spray they brought and deal with the problem?! now I know that cockroaches are fairly common in the Caribbean this is not my first time in Jamaica but we do not eat in our room because I know this and we really did not drink in there either plus housekeeping came every day and did a good job. That being said I have never seen a roach while visiting Jamaica, I have not seen one in over 10 years at a resort that I stayed at. Needless to say I was very shocked that there was a roach on my bed in my upgraded clean room on the top floor and especially how it was handled by staff. This was reported to management and they really presented as concerned but offered no real compensation or effort to rectify the situation until I ask at check out. In terms of the resort, The staff are very hard-working and most of them pleasant. There was a shortage of towels most days and absolutely no service for the cabana I rented for my birthday. Our server actually disappeared after the first round of drinks and when I asked where he went he said he does not walk in the rain? It was only raining for about 20 minutes. Disappeared for hours at a time and it was very disappointing because I was trying to enjoy my birthday. My daughter enjoyed painting with Clive on the beach and some of the water activities. The beach is nice however we did not see all the fish people are talking about. It may have been the weather. We had a good time but not a great time based on the above. The food was very average and the quantity small in platinum. I was disappointed in the selection of Jamaican options, there was absolutely no Curry chicken or curry goat no brown stew chicken and I never saw one single patty. The plantain was dried up. My kids are part Jamaican and would have really loved some variety, I love it too. We enjoyed the Japanese restaurant. The Buffet was fairly disappointing. The best time to go there is breakfast, we miss the omelettes (yum) and cold coffee and watered down mimosas lol. I tipped very well all week but at times I wondered what I was tipping for as the service was very average. It is advisable to bring your own drink cups that you can refill as the ones there are Small and dirty and they do not use straws at this resort. The waterpark was hit or miss. At times it was extremely busy with locals and not very enjoyable as a result. My children did enjoy it a little but honestly doing excursions outside of this resort was the highlight of our trip. The people we very friendly and the food was good. I'd give them a solid 3.5 stars and for the affordable price it was well worth it. The resort was very clean and the beach is nice with snorkeling right off the shoreline. Our only complaint was that they open the resort up to people from cruise ships. That's a breach of our security and safety especially in today's times. We would definately go back again if we had smaller children. Read less

Without a doubt, one of the most pleasant and enjoyable resorts ever! Not the biggest place but it had everything you could ever ask for. Scuba diving right on site and only a few minute boat ride to several interesting spots. Hobbie Cats were always available and never any lineups. Jerk shack on the beach was excellent! The waterpark was lots of fun for adults and kids and you could have spent the day there if you wanted. A good selection of restaurants and places to eat. One of the main things we noticed was how genuinely nice all the staff were to us. We've been to most all of the hot vacation spots in the Caribbean and Mexico most 5 star although none managed to provide the level of service from the staff who we encountered during our visit. We had butler service and Shamille, Ramiro and Imran were absolutely exceptional. Resorts we stayed at in past claimed to have butler service but they in no way even remotely compared to the fine service and attention we were provided during our stay. The child care ladies were wonderful and took an personal interest in our 3 and 5 year olds. We did carriage rides and visited the stable as well. Service from the bars and front desk was always prompt and the service was pleasant and efficient. Our room was always clean and the maid was very sweet. We've been to most all of the other Caribbean holiday spots and for some reason we have overlooked Jamaica till now. We definitely recommend this resort and may return again in future! Read less
