Little Good Harbour

Barbados, Caribbean

The hotel

A little piece of real Barbados, this collection of suites sits in a peaceful fishing village, along a stretch of white sunbed-sprinkled sands. Part of its unique charm comes from its beautiful 18th century fort, beautiful gardens along with two serene pools and a spa. This luxury hotel’s handy spot near Speightstown gives you plenty of options for dinners out – but many locals choose to visit Little Good Harbour itself, to feast at The Fish Pot. Set inside the historic fort, it’s one of the island’s most famous and fabulous restaurants, featuring coastal classics like Caribbean lobster

Beautiful rooms, location, restaurant and most of all outstanding staff and Management. I had been ill before we left the UK and was taking antibiotics. My illness escalated on arrival in Barbados not helped by me leaving a bag with money, phone, passport, medication and tickets in the taxi from the airport. The duty manager took control of the crisis ( I felt too ill), tracked down the actual cab, the driver and then arranged my bag to be collected the following day- relief! I needed medical attention and the General Manager stepped in, organised car hire for us, recommended a clinic and phoned to arrange an appointment. To cut a long story short I was taken by private ambulance from the clinic to A&E and spent the next 7 days in Barbados General Hospital. Having got a fit to fly cert. from the Consultant the Hotel Manager organised a taxi and wheelchair to the airport and provided help and guidance to my wife who was travelling daily back and forth to the hospital to visit me and organise our health insurance claim. Even the wonderful cleaners stopped to ask after me on my brief return from hospital saying they were praying for me to return to health. Fantastic people and so kind and supportive in these very worrying circumstances. Still managed a couple of meals in the fabulous restaurant with my wife, putting on a brave face....... All well now having been hospitalised on my return to the UK and now “fixed’’ and I will never forget the genuine care and compassion from all staff and management at Little Good Harbour. Thank you all! Read less

This is one of those...do I leave a review as I’d really like to keep this place to myself moments... However it’s great to give praise where it’s due and share the love. If you want clubs, noise and pretension go elsewhere. A little off the beaten track but that suited us just fine. Look forward to returning next year😎❤️. Read less

Great stay here in Little Good Harbour. The beach is small but very nice and quiet - just the Fish Pot Restaurant which is super for meals. The two pools are small but great as the larger one is deep so good for swimming. The reception staff are helpful: in particular Graham was really helpful. Local buses go past at $BD3.50 per person to get into Speightstown but a hire car is definitely useful. Reception arranged one for us for a few days as we felt it wasn’t worth having one lying outside doing nothing if we were having a lazy day. There are loads of turtles and fish to snorkel at Six Men’s Bay which is a five minute walk away. Much cheaper than taking a boat trip which. Stops there anyway, but do be careful in the water as there are quite a few large boats. Animal Flower cave worth a trip and Harrison’s Cave plus the Flower Forest tropical garden. Jordan’s supermarket in Speightstown has quite a good variety of food but it’s not cheap. There are local stalls in Six Men’s Bay selling bread and fish caught freshly. We paid 80 BD$ for a large Mahi Mahi which fed us for two nights and it was 60 BD$ pp for catch of the day at the local restaurants. Juma’s restaurant in Speightstown was nice and the Orange Street Grocery did a nice menu. Mullins Bay quite fun with inflatables but zero health and safety so at your own risk. We have had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend. We have done an all inclusive holiday here before but much preferred the extra space and freedom of the villa. Bring mosquito spray as quite a few in the rooms and outside. Read less

We had visited Barbados in 1988 and whilst we had loosely thought we’d go back some day we hadn’t done anything about it. Until, in a quiet half hour I saw this hotel and thought we must go there. So we did! A delightful place to stay. We had a two bedroomed villa and three of us stayed for a week. Beautifully furnished and decorated, good a/c and quiet at night. Two lovely pools and a restaurant ( what a restaurant!) in 10 yards. The sea was just as close and was beautifully warm although it had a surprising undertow. We criss-crossed the island visiting all the places we’d visited before. Our daughter now 32 was 2 the last time we were there and we took with us our photographs from our last visit. These proved a big talking point because you could actually see how much the foliage in Andromeda Gardens had developed in that time. Back to the hotel. The staff were lovely and our villa housekept to the highest of standards. Much as I like trying new places I adored this place so much I will go there on my next visit. It was lovely Read less
