Image of the Tripadvisor rating Stayed hre twice for two Cosmos Tours - Great Location

On our first trip to New York I was surprised that this hotel was so close to Times square. Second time I was aware of that and was happy to stay again but not sure I would consider a third stay. Cosmos charge $500 a couple per night - not worth it.

Now a little out dated and air conditioner was very noisy and had to switch it off to try and get some sleep. Very disappointed with the fact that the WiFi was only available in the Lobby which can get very noisy. Had a small run in with front desk staff which could maybe do with some customer service training not the most pleasant of people. As a result would never stay here again and would recommend the same to my friends Read less

2 blocks from the NY Subway, blue line, with lots of connections to the other lines . 2 blocks from “Restaurant row” and 3 from Broadway/Theatre district. Yes you can get something cheaper further out, but communing in NY above or below ground is not as much fun as home and quite time consuming! It has a decent indoor pool that is deep and warm. Not available during the week days. But hey why were you going to NY anyhow. The hotel is “steady” 3 star, nothing flash, friendly staff, no on-site dining, but “10 Avenue, directly across the road” has it all for breakfast, the issue is only where to eat it! Up by the pool has tables, down by the “free” coffee is a crowded scrum, or back to your room. Suggest book early as there seems to be Friday/Saturday peak loads that can stuff up a longer booking. Aircon was mediocre. NY Subway, (combination of colours and letters, watch out some are express and don't stop everywhere and read carefully the weekend closed signs, they will tell you the best option to get on your way. Don't bother with a subway map, get the phone app, the system is too vast for it all to show in sufficient font for humans, Worse than Berlin for Maps (especially inside), to know where you are going / navigate you have to know the last stop's name on the appropriate line to your actual destination!!, Uptown is North and Downtown is South!) So myself and my mother and auntie came to NYC for a girly birthday holiday and this hotel ruined our stay. There are a few good things about this hotel, it’s in a brilliant location and not far from all the local attractions & there is a wonderful Deli across the street which does amazing food and the staff are brilliant. However there are also LOTS of cons; - Not enough plug sockets in the room, and the plug sockets that are in the room are not in suitable places. - No tea or coffee amenities in the room. - Super loud air conditioning which keeps a whole floor awake. - The key cards demagnetise EVERY damn day and we had to come down every morning to get into our room - The flush continued to run on our toilet and despite asking them to fix it, no one seemed to give a damn. - My auntie asked for non feather pillows as she is allergic and they said they would sort it, that’s the last we heard. - The coffee bar is not open long enough and there is not enough supplies at all. Finally my main two issues are that: 1. One time the reception was not manned and there was a queue of 6 people, we waited for 5 minutes and I had to go and find someone to help us. 2. The hotel is VERY outdated, the front is updated but the rooms are falling apart. And the pool is not how advertised on the website. Would never stay here ever again. Read less

We were unsure of this hotel when we booked but we were wrong. Really great location central to Times Square and the other main attractions in NY. Large bedroom with all the facilities we needed and good free Wifi. Staff were really helpful when we needed them.
