The toiletries were basic but sufficient and towels were enough. Early in the morning there was loud music from a nearby building and probably the hotel should install sound proof windows. The lobby is small and so is the reception. Check-in and check-out was smooth with friendly staff. For its rates, the hotel is good. It was fully booked on the night we spent there. Munir D. We spend 3 nights in the Holiday Inn Express. The check-in was nice, helpful and informative with many recommandations for us: what to do, where to eat etc. The room was good and spaceful. The breakfast buffet was great and big.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip, and 1 at the end; 2 rooms both times. It’s a great central location, but it is in the central business district, which is very very quiet on Sundays. Our rooms were large and spacious, with a couch and desk and plenty of extra space. The safe worked with no problem. The hotel had doormen, which was nice, especially when returning late at night – as soon as we got out of the Uber, people started approaching for money, some aggressively . Breakfast was very good and had a lot to choose from. We also used the valet service on our last night, which was very smooth both dropping off and picking up; the overnight cost to park the car was ridiculously cheap compared to the US. They have a luggage wrap service – it was much quicker at the airport. Our initial reservation was for 3 nights, but we missed our connection and didn’t arrive until the next day – we were able to call and let them know, and there was no problem when we arrived. We all struggled with their shower doors, which would not fully close and left a mess in the bathroom (both rooms). St. George’s Church is very close, as were a number of other attractions; some walking tours start very close to the hotel, too. There are street vendors selling in the square – nice for a little shopping, but also they are a little aggressive. We were able to check out and leave our luggage for the day with no problem. Very friendly staff. Read less

We stayed at the hotel with 5 colleagues and used the hotel as our home base during our stay. We traveled all over the Western Cape, so it was nice to have this hotel to come home to. The staff from the reception, to the cleaners, to the security officers, to the men who took care of our car, everyone was friendly, kind and very helpful in everything. The beds were good and the rooms spacious. The only downside was the WiFi. It was horrible. We were thrown out of the internet time after time again. Sometimes even after 5 minutes. At times it was impossible for me to get some work done and some emails send. For us who were in Cape Town for work it was really bad. Would I stay in this hotel again? For pleasure? Absolutely! For business reasons? I’d have to think about it and figure out how badly I would need to get online. Read less
