Great easy hotel, not overwhelming but true NYC style. Centrally located but much to do within blocks right on Washington Square.. been coming for a decade. Don't stay anywhere else. Restaurant fand Bar is convenient and great for drinks and good food. BREAKFAST fantastic! Warm atmosphere.

This is a historic hotel in the West Village. Yes, the rooms are small and our room opened on to an airshaft but it was quiet in a busy location and I prefer that to a view We love the Art Deco details. So close to great restaurants and clubs as well as the subway. Can't wait to return. Read less

Stayed for the location as we were visiting our son. Assigned a room on the second floor, tiny, dark, looking out on a wall, no ventilation, coffin- like. As soon as we saw it we walked out and in fairness we were assigned a much brighter but still very small room on top floor. We did not eat at the hotel but asked for a coffee and bottle of water… Read more

As soon as we saw it we walked out and in fairness we were assigned a much brighter but still very small room on top floor. We did not eat at the hotel but asked for a coffee and bottle of water to be delivered but this service as not available. We had a drink in one of the outside booths which was ok - as the downstairs bar was a bit dreary. When we arrived we struggled up with our own suitcases and on departure we struggled through the door with large suitcases onto the street to try to get a cab. The concierge was at the front desk chatting to the receptionist. Overall we would not go back. The hotel may be historic but it needs a clean up and service was poor. Read less

Stayed here for the 5 boro bike tour which was perfect. The hotel rooms are small but fantastic. Ill take a small, clean modern hotel room over a huge ok one. Planning another Trip to New York in a few months. Will stay here again. If I had to say one negative is no Parking or Vouchers for a parking lot.

The windows opened into an air shaft where the opposite wall was about 2 feet away; very very claustrophobic. It was quiet at night but completely dark all day. At over $300 per night (including taxes) , I’d like some natural light and fresh air. The staff said they would move us but the hotel was completely full. Luckily we had gorgeous weather all weekend, because staying for any amount of time in that room would have been depressing. Read less
