The William

Midtown, New York

The hotel

A newly opened Brownstone Boutique hotel with a private club feel, offering the very highest standard of comfort. Every floor at the William is a different colour and are perfect for a long or short stay in New York. Although modern, it’s a historic building you’re occupying; this was home to the Williams Club since 1924, a private alumni social club for the prestigious liberal arts school, Williams College. Not to be missed is a visit to The Shakespeare Dining Room, a restaurant that evokes an early 19th century English gentleman’s club atmosphere with rich wood panelling, oak parquet floors and marble fireplace. Located beneath is The Shakespeare Pub, boasting a menu of English pub grub, cask ales and wines. The Raines Law Room is another treat – a speakeasy-type lounge with curtained-off booths, service bells for waiters and an extensive drinks list. A unique base from which to explore, we think The William counts as a sight to see and experience in itself!

Our room was so spacious with beautiful contemporary decor. We loved the mini kitchen in the room. We all agreed it was our favourite bedroom on this entire trip. Will definitely return when back in NYC.

Pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel, service, room and amenities. The rooms are especially big with comfortable beds and strong Wi-Fi. Next time I'm in New York City, I will definitely be staying here again.

Great (smaller) Hotel in the center of Manhattan. Interesting venues in house (the Shakespeare). Very helpful staff. Lots of restaurants around. Modern and big rooms. We had a kitchen!! I visited NYC more than 50 times during 2 decades. The Willian is unusual good. (Price/Value) Best experience until now .Will definitely come back!!

The William was an amazing surprise. We found it by accident and really loved the property. The ultra modern rooms were a unexpected contrast to the vintage downstairs entry and bar. The staff was very accommodating as well as the gentlemen on the phone who took our reservation.
