I'll start this off by saying I am sad to write this review. This was my 4th time staying at the TRYP and it will absolutely be my last. I wrote a review a few years ago after my second stay and this one will get the complete opposite. I am not sure what changed, however this is not the same hotel I was happy to book year after year. First of all the lobby was a mess. The floors, glass doors, and even the TV screens look like they had not been cleaned in days. Because they lied about us being able to check into our room early, we spent over two hours in the lobby looking at how unkempt and filthy it was. Once we finally checked into our "Premium" room the disappointment continued. The room was disgusting. There was not a surface that looked totally clean. I am not exaggerating. Never have I stayed in any hotel this dirty. There is no way that Covid 19 protocols were being followed. I called around, but because it was during NY Comic Con, rooms were very scarce. Forcing us to make the best of a crappy situation. I could seriously go on and on however, this review would be a mile long. What was once a terrific hotel, in a fantastic location, is now absolutely awful. Read less

The bathroom and shower was great. The room was small but it was constantly being cleaned. Within walking distance to subway lines and Penn station. I would definitely stay again. Only recommendation would be to open up the restaurant/coffee spot in the lobby.

I stayed at this property last week for a couple of nights and I loved it. Crystal, the beautiful young lady at the front desk, was so sweet and accommodating. It was also in very close proximity to Penn Station which was a huge plus for me. The room was very clean but I did have an issue with the faucet when I first got in and within a few… Read more

It was also in very close proximity to Penn Station which was a huge plus for me. The room was very clean but I did have an issue with the faucet when I first got in and within a few minutes, the maintenance men, Lamberto and Raul, fixed it. They and the rest of the staff were very helpful and full of cheer. Before booking, I had mixed feelings about the place based on some of the negative reviews but I am glad I ended up staying there. The only con was, my room was next to a "family room" and there was a very noisy toddler. Thankfully, she was only noisy during the day. I would absolutely stay there again. Read less

I was moved to this hotel from @thePaulhotel (which is even worse, because they didn't have the room I'd already paid for on @priceline. The halls reek of weed, the coffee machine was broken and it took 2 hours in the morning to get another one, the tv only had some of the channels, they only clean the rooms every other day (and don't say so),… Read more

The halls reek of weed, the coffee machine was broken and it took 2 hours in the morning to get another one, the tv only had some of the channels, they only clean the rooms every other day (and don't say so), when. you call the front desk no one answers and no one returns your call when you leave a message, the room is tiny ... I have traveled around the world and this is so far from a 4 star hotel it's a joke. DO NOT stay here. Read less
