I normally don't write reviews but couldn't let this one pass. When we got to the room we discovered that it had a cracked window that they covered with a piece of cardboard. The cardboard covered a large amount of the window space and had been there so long that the duct tape was peeling away from the frame. Made the room very dark. I went to… Read more

The cardboard covered a large amount of the window space and had been there so long that the duct tape was peeling away from the frame. Made the room very dark. I went to put our water into the refrigerator and noticed it was warm and not working. Reported it right away but by the end of our 2 day stay, nothing had been done to repair or replace the unit. I stayed at TRYP for one night while meeting up with friends in the city. The hotel delivers exactly what it says which is a decent experience and clean, comfortable rooms while staying in the city. I stayed at TRYP for one night while meeting up with friends in the city. The hotel delivers exactly what it says which is a decent experience and clean, comfortable rooms while staying in the city. It’s not a ‘resort’ and really is only meant for sleeping and showering. If you’re looking for more of a hotel/resort ‘experience’, thus won’t be the place for you! TRYP is very centralized located on the west side mid-town close to Times Square, Port Authority, l dining choices, and the theater district. I had ore-paid my room making check in a breeze. My room was a double Queen with a work table with a charging station, a Keurig machine, and a bathroom with a shower. The room itself was well acquainted and updated. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is also a place to leave your luggage, etc. prior to check in and after check out. There is a bar area in the evening right off the main lobby…I never stopped so I’m not sure how expansive the drink lists are. The only drawback for me was that if you want to check in early if your room is ready, you have to pay an additional $34. In any other hotel I’ve stayed at in the city, so long as your room is ready, they will let you check in early. HOARDS of people hanging in the lobby from 2:30 on waiting to check in…In times of Covid, you’d think they could relax this and waive the fee to let people go to their rooms early to avoid long waits in crowds. Overall, a clean and comfortable place to stay while visiting NYC. Read less

My wife and I had an early flight into NYC and was hoping that we could possibly check in to our rooms at the TRYP NYC Wyndham early, however even with rooms available to check into, TRYP Wyndham were charging us $17 per hour ahead of checkin time to get an early checkin. Needless to say, they had a room to store our luggage and we decide to have lunch and wait for checkin time at 3:00pm. The following morning we decided to have breakfast at there breakfast buffet however TRYP did not have anyone to serve food and to layout the breakfast for the buffet. The breakfast area was not cleaned and had trash and bottles setting around from the night before. Other issues were that our room (1409) on the 14th floor had a cracked window covered with cardboard duct taped to the window. Our refrigerator did not work, initially the front desk told us that nothing could be done, however we waited until the next day and asked again and finally got that replaced. The customer service was terrible and the facility was not well kept. Read less

The “Family Room” was the exact room we were looking for. There was space for our group of five to spread out. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and the restaurant was a great option for a tired family at the end of a rainy day in the city.

We were only here for two nights, but it was awesome. Room was great, beds were comfy. Location was perfect for our stay. Lots of places to eat nearby, and close to Times Square. Would not hesitate to stay again!
