Excellent hotel, rooms were small but really fine. Lobby and bar area comfortable for a drink. Happy hour was nice but just house wines were served. Due to Covid no meals. Coffee bar was a bit of a hassle as location was cramped and no more than one person at a time could complete getting their coffee, sugar, etc. No coffee pots in the rooms.

OK, so most of my reviews are about "positives" -- Momma raised the kid with "if you can't say anything nice, etc." But as much as the Muse has its charm, I gotta' say I'm flummoxed (hope I spelled that right) by some quirks of their service. OK, so most of my reviews are about "positives" -- Momma raised the kid with "if you can't say anything nice, etc." But as much as the Muse has its charm, I gotta' say I'm flummoxed (hope I spelled that right) by some quirks of their service. So long story short, check in week before Thanksgiving with wife and I to do quick birthday weekend getaway to NYC. We've done a bunch of Kimptons and like their style (not to mention the happy hour). We've stayed at Eventi before so thought, let's try Muse. First off, I mentioned in the notes of my reservation that this was a special occasion (my birthday) and requested a nice room. OK, so no biggie when check in and no mention of IHG membership or birthday or what hotel has to offer and just handed room keys with no fanfare. I'm a big boy (and a year older!) -- I'll live. So go up to room and key won't work. Again, not end of world, back to front desk. Clerk re-keys, go back up, and this time key works -- only to find somebody's stuff already in room. Back downstairs, given a different room, back to room again. At this point, I can report that the elevators are lovely and work well ;)... So I go to park the car, leave wife in room who reports housekeeping knocks on door and says "here's the towels you asked for..." -- we didn't. Wife getting a little miffed at this point and said something like "hey, we didn't order towels, you guys have put us in two different rooms, are you sure you know who we are, who the other people are, or what room we all are actually in?" Front desk responds by offering a small bottle of wine -- but we have to come back down to front desk and pick it up. So apparently towels you didn't order can be delivered but complimentary "we're sorry wine..." you must pick up? Weird, but sure whatever. Rest of stay goes fine. Room along front of building which I sense may get more street noise than others toward back in case you are, like me, a light sleeper. Go to check out next day and clerk at front desk (I won't mention names just to not dime the person out) indicates to me (keep in mind I didn't ask or preface this interaction) "Mr. So-and-so, I'm so sorry for the confusion with your room yesterday, I've taken the liberty of depositing a nice chunk of reward points in your IHG account. Did you receive the email?" I check my emails and say "thanks for that, I appreciate that -- but no, I didn't receive any email." Clerk says "oh, the systems have to reload so you may not see that email/rewards until tomorrow." OK, cool, nice gesture. Way to make the customer happy. Anyway, week goes by and I think "huh, never saw those points" -- call Muse, speak to same clerk. Person says "oh yes, I remember you and the situation, but its the holiday and the systems are probably slow and given it was so many points I was giving you a manager probably had to approve and give me a call back in week if you don't get those points." Another few weeks (actually a month) go by. I call and ask for same clerk again. This time "oh yes, I remember you and the situation -- in fact, I recognize your voice. I'm busy right now, but I will speak to my manager and see what happened -- let me get you name and phone number and I will call you back..." Yep, you can guess if I ever got that call back... Don't get me wrong. Nice hotel; pretty to look at; good location (if a little street noisy though given its location, what did you expect). But the "slippy" service -- coupled with an unrequested, but unfollowed thru follow-up to fix the slip-ups in the first place make me wonder -- "c'mon guys... you can do better..." End of somewhat miffed rant. I feel better venting my frustration to no one in particular, but I just gotta' think -- "guys, people remember this sorta' stuff -- try harder!!!" Read less

What a very pleasant surprise! We have visited Manhattan many times. Usually, the reasonably priced hotels have tiny rooms and marginal comforts. This hotel was amazing! Room was huge by NYC standards & the bathroom was completely renovated to state of the art! Staff was friendly & professional. We will be back. I highly recommend!

Booked this hotel at the last minute when another hotel turned out to be a horrible and misrepresented disaster. Conveniently located in the theatre district about a block off Times Square. Easy walk to many notable sights. The reception was warm and friendly. Sure, there are many services not yet restored from the pandemic but the basics are there: free coffee in the morning, free wine reception in the evening, and great housekeeping. The lobby is comfortable with an upscale vibe. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is spacious with a great walk-in shower with good water pressure. The lobby and guest room was amazingly quiet despite being so close to TImes Square. Pet friendly. Definitely will stay here again. Read less
