Park Lane Hotel New York

Midtown, New York

Virgin rating

The hotel

A benchmark for luxury Manhattan retreats, Park Lane Hotel is old-world New York at its very best. It exudes a definite air of upmarket class, with its well-dressed frontage opening into a grand lobby. But it’s what is outside the hotel that first wows guests – as you’re staying right along Central Park, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The address also puts you just a New York minute from other attractions, like Times Square, Carnegie Hall, and Fifth Avenue. With a location like this, it’s no wonder the architect designed oversized picture windows. Behind them, treats include a complimentary 24-hour fitness centre, free WiFi, and dining and drinks at The Park Room Restaurant, Harry’s Bar, and Café on the Green.

Excellent service from the doorman all the way to housekeeping. Could not have asked for a better long weekend. Excellent location with Central Park right out the door. Many restaurants to choose from. Hotel has recently added Harry's on the second floor. Again, service was superb. Also a roof top bar has opened. Breakfast was served on the rooftop every morning. Great choices. Stayed two years ago and just last week. Would highly recommend this hotel. Read less

You should definitely get a room with a park view, it's fantastic! And the beds are extra comfy, had a refreshing sleep. Otherwise, the hotel could use a refurbishment, the furniture is quite old and the wind howls through the windows at night 😀

$35 facility fee plus taxes per day for a telephone and slow wifi. Neither of which was needed. Wifi was intermittent and barely able to sustain streaming. Bathtub didn't drain. Room had a view of the park. Staff was friendly.

Our room with two queen size beds, for the family, was on the 35th floor with a superlative view of Central Park, and that's why we came back and we will come back, the view is splendid, the cleaning service did not do their job for a couple of days but when speaking to reception they sent someone to do it without problems and very kindly, I don't know if it is already a standard measure, but in the last hotels that we have stayed in all over the world there is always a coffee machine, this time there was not and For heavy coffee drinkers like my wife and I, that's something we missed. The bar has a good view but only to the front, if you sit on the sides you will be without a view and next to a brick wall, also they do not offer you any snacks with the drinks. Our room took a while to be ready for us, we arrived at 1:30pm and it was ready at 5:00pm, no real apology for that delay, but once settled in and with that view everything was great. Read less
