Park Lane Hotel New York

Midtown, New York

The hotel

A benchmark for luxury Manhattan retreats, Park Lane Hotel is old-world New York at its very best. It exudes a definite air of upmarket class, with its well-dressed frontage opening into a grand lobby. But it’s what is outside the hotel that first wows guests – as you’re staying right along Central Park, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The address also puts you just a New York minute from other attractions, like Times Square, Carnegie Hall, and Fifth Avenue. With a location like this, it’s no wonder the architect designed oversized picture windows. Behind them, treats include a complimentary 24-hour fitness centre, free WiFi, and dining and drinks at The Park Room Restaurant, Harry’s Bar, and Café on the Green.

This is my second time at the Park Lane, things are changing for the worst, the hotel is old and out of date even the things it use to have just a few years ago are gone, I am still paying $40 a day for a resort fee and they got rid of the best thing that comes with it which is the happy hour but the fee is still there and it might be higher than… Read more

Needs double glazing too as the windows let in a bit of a draught, have bad condensation and block no noise whatsoever. Room cleaned very well. Water in room expensive, but had fridge so bought our own from outside hotel. No in room coffee making facilities, would be great if they provided a kettle. We had the buffet breakfast, great selection and fantastic views of central park. 40 dollar per night facilities fee includes 10 dollar to use on food, internet access. Staff pleasant. Hotel is in a great location, right opposite central park, easy walking distance to rockerfeller centre where we saw the amazing tree. Major bad thing is there is building work over the road from our room which meant lots of noise from 7am every day. Read less

We were upgraded to a junior suite facing the park which was a very nice treat. Staff was responsive. We visit NYC a few times a year and have staid at the Park Lane often. The location is great. I miss the happy hour in the room that overlooks the park and wish you would bring that back vs. the coupons.

The Park Lane Hotel sits right in front of Central Park on the south side. The rooms are adequate but nothing special. Rooms do not have complimentary coffee makers or water (there is a charge for the water) The bathroom needed to be updated (there were chips in the sink)

The entire experience was excellent! Everyone was so wonderful, when checking in, I mentioned that it was my and my partners 25th anniversary and we were in NYC to celebrate. When we got into our room, we found chilled champagne and chocolate covered strawberries with an anniversary card from the hotel! It made the beginning of the five night stay… Read more
