Park Lane Hotel New York

Midtown, New York

The hotel

A benchmark for luxury Manhattan retreats, Park Lane Hotel is old-world New York at its very best. It exudes a definite air of upmarket class, with its well-dressed frontage opening into a grand lobby. But it’s what is outside the hotel that first wows guests – as you’re staying right along Central Park, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The address also puts you just a New York minute from other attractions, like Times Square, Carnegie Hall, and Fifth Avenue. With a location like this, it’s no wonder the architect designed oversized picture windows. Behind them, treats include a complimentary 24-hour fitness centre, free WiFi, and dining and drinks at The Park Room Restaurant, Harry’s Bar, and Café on the Green.

Great location. Very comfortable room. Covid safety protocols taken very seriously. But big kudos to the incredible staff! I especially must recognize Jorge and Nicole. They each went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. There is no doubt that I will be coming back to the Park Lane Hotel.

We stayed at Park Lane Hotel at the beginning of this year. The room we stayed at was very spacious (it was 3 of us). It had two queen beds, with lots of storage space. We stayed at Park Lane Hotel at the beginning of this year. The room we stayed at was very spacious (it was 3 of us). It had two queen beds, with lots of storage space. The room isn't the most modern room in the world - the hotel needs some renovation, but this is quite common in most NYC hotels. I thought the room was clean, temperature was reasonable and we had no overall issues with it. The location of the hotel was perfect. It is a minute walk from a few subways, with easy access to other neighbourhoods. Central Park is right opposite, which means that morning walks were the best! The hotel is also 10-min walking distance from Columbus circle - for those of you who want to go shopping, there's a great Sephora in the shopping centre around there :) The only thing that was disappointing was the facility fee that we did not know about. We booked through a travel website which offered a package holiday. When we arrived to the hotel, we found out that there was a daily fee that all visitors had to pay. We spent 7 nights at this hotel and ended up spending an extra $40 per night. When we asked to find out more about this facility fee, we were told that it's for visitors to use the wifi, gym and business conference rooms. We had to pay the fee although we did not use any of these facilities. Overall, it was a good stay. Read less

After reading the reviews we thought this was the perfect ending for our wedding night. It turned out to be a nightmare. We checked in close to midnight. The room was 80° so we turned on the air. Needless to say we couldn’t sleep. It was so hot we got up at 5 AM and it was so hot it was only 1° lower. We live in New York City and all we wanted to do was go back to our apartment to sleep in cool air condition. The room was dated and run down. The worst of it all is that we booked a package where we were supposed to have champagne and other things and we got nothing. At check out when we told the front desk our experience she asked us if we called anyone I told her no all we wanted to do was sleep we had a long night and we weren’t about to start changing rooms we thought eventually the air would cool down but it never did. We then told her about the package deal and she looked at us like we were stupid. She said we don’t have room service now because of the pandemic. I said to her then why would anyone allow us to book a room with extras when they knew they wouldn’t be giving us extras! all she said was hopefully next time our stay will be better as the hotel is being renovated. She never changed her rate to a regular room she never took off the package or the extras that we paid for and never got. This was the worst hotel experience we have ever had. Thanks for ruining our wedding night Park Lane. Read less
