Park Lane Hotel New York

Midtown, New York

The hotel

A benchmark for luxury Manhattan retreats, Park Lane Hotel is old-world New York at its very best. It exudes a definite air of upmarket class, with its well-dressed frontage opening into a grand lobby. But it’s what is outside the hotel that first wows guests – as you’re staying right along Central Park, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The address also puts you just a New York minute from other attractions, like Times Square, Carnegie Hall, and Fifth Avenue. With a location like this, it’s no wonder the architect designed oversized picture windows. Behind them, treats include a complimentary 24-hour fitness centre, free WiFi, and dining and drinks at The Park Room Restaurant, Harry’s Bar, and Café on the Green.

We met our good friends from Chicago at the Park Lane Hotel, where they have stayed many times before. Their room had a fabulous view of Central Park and the location of the hotel is magnificent. We wanted to spend less, so our room was smaller and looked over building that were on the opposite side of the Park - not a problem for us. Our bellman was great, but the front desk seemed to be running short of help and it took far to long to get service. Also, when calling from your room, there is no option to call the front desk - how odd! There was confusion in the delivery of our luggage, no delivery in a requested toiletry item, and erroneous service of a fruit basket that was in our room but was intended for an entirely different guest. It was convenient to have the coffee bar available on the lobby level, but seemed strange that there was on on-site restaurant to serve the hotel outside of room service. We truly loved the location, however, and had breakfast next door and walked to many sights and enjoyed Central Park. The location is the best part of this hotel as we generally found it understaffed and overpriced. Our friends will stay here again as it is their tradition, but we will probably search out a new hotel. Read less

Stayed at Park Lane Hotel for the last leg of a month long trip in New York. Admittedly the Hotel as been around a long time and it shows in some areas. I believe it adds to the charm though 😊 whatever it lacks in looks, it makes up for in service 😊 I would especially like to thank Mr. Victor V for his help, super nice and hard working guy 😊… Read more

A great pity for this renown brand. Also during 2 days, I struggle to locate an Amazon small package sent to me and received at the hotel. Four reception staff could not follow through, some with a smile other really not helpful. Surprising. Finally one person, Aina Amangazieva, solved it very gracefully. Thank you AINA.One would wish everyone would attend a guest as well. Read less
