Park Lane Hotel New York

Midtown, New York

The hotel

A benchmark for luxury Manhattan retreats, Park Lane Hotel is old-world New York at its very best. It exudes a definite air of upmarket class, with its well-dressed frontage opening into a grand lobby. But it’s what is outside the hotel that first wows guests – as you’re staying right along Central Park, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The address also puts you just a New York minute from other attractions, like Times Square, Carnegie Hall, and Fifth Avenue. With a location like this, it’s no wonder the architect designed oversized picture windows. Behind them, treats include a complimentary 24-hour fitness centre, free WiFi, nightly wine receptions with hors d’oeuvres, and dining and drinks at The Park Room Restaurant, Harry’s Bar, and Café on the Green.

This is the fifth time I have stayed at the Park Lane Hotel. It NEVER disappoints. It has a PERFECT location, It has a gorgeous lobby and fabulous restaurant. The staff are friendly and professional. My room was squeaky clean. Best of all, I had a breathtaking view of Central Park. It was a dream come true!

We stayed just one night at the Park Lane Hotel....the staff was very friendly and helpful, our room was very large with an amazing view of central park, although it's a little dated it was clean and comfortable. Out back is a cute outside sitting area to eat or drink or both! We will definitely be staying here again.

I got my flight cancelled, and left an email to reservation to inform them. No reply. Next morning early, i dediced to phone (Chinese sim card, calling from Canada, well that's gonna cost me a fortune) the reservation team again and was told that they dont work after 7pm and that nobody read my email so far, asked me to call front desk myself (why not transferred?) and got a very rude staff telling me that my booking was still on but i would have to pay for my no-show night (fair enough, was expecting this, but not the rudeness). Anyway, on arrival, i was met at the front desk by a very friendly lady who told me that it was too early for check-in but she could get me a room with a bigger bathtub right now. I agreed. I shouldnt have. I booked a Park view king size suite with a high floor. I was on floor 16 (out of 48) and could see the top of the trees right in my face. That's not exactly what i wanted. Anyway, i slept 4 hours the night before, was upset by United for cancelling my flight and being stuck in Quebec where i had no place to stay, so i accepted the room. I booked this hotel only for the park view and this was apparently the cheapest one around the suite is spacious, the bed was comfy, but that's it. The carpet is old and filthy, the wall paper is falling off, the bathroom is older than my great grandmother, the bathtub wasnt appealing for a bath (actually i almost got showered with my flip flops on, to avoid fungus and warts). the whole hotel is like this actually The breakfast buffet is really average, not even an egg station (only scrambled eggs offered), the bacon is overcooked (almost broke my teeth), two choices of juice only, and the list is long. The waiters are friendly but spend more time chatting and joking with each other, than taking care of the guests I would like to say that ONE person in this hotel deserves GREAT respect and a salary raise and i really enjoyed his services: Benedict at the Concierge. Not only he knows his stuff, but you could really see that he enjoyed his job too. He was smiling all the time, and really welcoming you like a member of his family. He even did his best to speak a little bit of French to please me. Thumb up for this man! You made my stay worth it. Would not come again. I know the Hilton is more expensive but it's a modern hotel Read less

The staffs who worked at the front desk were so kind and helpful. Due to them, I could start my day happily. Also I could enjoy staying there. I stayed in partial park view room and they gave me the highest room. The view was so nice.
