Located 10-15 min from any other small businesses, the area during this holiday weekend was quiet. Depending on the direction you were walking, it is surrounded by industrial businesses and apartments. While waiting to check-in, I overheard the offer of bag storage; always great to be able to explore NY without carrying extra weight. The lobby was tight as a set of stairs went down to the bar and dining area. Given a room on the 4th floor, catching the elevator was annoying as the arrow lights was obscured by the door sidings. As we exited to our floor, we were immediately hit with the humidity coming from the open windows. Upon entry into the air conditioned room, the first thing I noticed was the sink to my right. I look into the bathroom and only a toilet and shower was available. Whoever thought of this design obviously didn't take into account hygiene after using the toilet. As I traversed further into the room, there was a height difference between the sink/closet area and bed/desk area. The small elevation was annoying as I tripped on it every time I walked towards the door. The queen sized bed was low to the ground, had clean linens, and low/thin pillows. After settling in, we placed the magnetic "do not disturb" sign on the door, and checked out the rooftop. With faux grass covering the floor, lounge chairs went all around, and to the left of the elevators was a bar. We then traversed down to discover coffee and tea was available all day in the bar/dining area. The next morning, we enjoyed our included continental breakfast and took their complimentary shuttle to 60th St. subway entrance in Manhattan. Before exiting, the driver stated pick-up was every half hour at the same place. On our return, we wasted 45 min. because it was actually every hour on the half hour. After checking out, we wanted to hang out on the rooftop before leaving. We got kicked out and went down to the dining area. We got kicked out of there too because they wanted to clean immediately after breakfast. We ended up hanging out at a couple of dusty (indicating that bar doesn't get that much business) high tables and chairs. As we only used the room to sleep, freshen up, and store our luggage, this hotel met our needs. Read less

The hotel was nice, and people were friendly, but I was surprised that what I paid online wasn't the final cost. They charged me a $30 "Facility / Experience Fee"—whatever that means—plus taxes. Why didn't my online payment either A. cover the cost in its entirety, or B. tell me that this was not the final cost. Like many people, I consider the… Read more

Like many people, I consider the *price* of the hotel when deciding where to go, and I did not have all the data. Read less

Anyway.... beautiful property, very modern decor, extremely friendly staff, and they include breakfast! Our hotel ordeal left us stranded for several hours and we didn’t get to Z NYC hotel until 4:00 AM. The front desk staff member was so sympathetic to our situation and got us quickly checked in AND offered us a late check out so that we could sleep in. I very much appreciate the hospitality and I highly recommend Z NYC Hotel!! PS....GREAT view from our room! Thank you for saving us, Z NYC! Read less

First off let me say that the views and service I received were amazing! However the bed wasn’t the most comfortable and the music noise from the rooftop bar could be heard in my room on the 7th floor. The air conditioning was quite noisy though and the room got hot very very quickly. Finally the room always seemed dusty. I don’t think this… Read more

I don’t think this was due to the lack of cleaning, more the like generally the rooms generated a lot of dust. Read less

Very close to the city, plus they offer a free shuttle that’ll drop you off and pick you up across the bridge. Free breakfast, free coffee, enough said. Nothing to really do around the hotel but that is probably why they offer the free shuttle.
